Hi there Bob jenny and poppy, another very informative and detailed video I'm sure that will be an excellent reference for anyone to refer to..well done xx
Fantastic video Bob and Jenny, after years of watching your videos I finally got a campervan. Forgot everything in the handover immediately, so this video is great. Thanks so much.
Thanks Bob and Jenny, another very informative and helpful video. I really appreciate your efforts in trying to help and educate us newbie motorhomers! You've created a wonderful library of information, advice and adventures that we can learn from and refer back to whenever needed. Thank you so much for your efforts, it's clear you work very hard and it's very much appreciated! 👍😁🌈 Thanks again x
Thanks again Bob and Jenny, most helpful video, there’s is lots to learn and remember, so I think it’s a case of watching this video quite a few times, 👍👍.
Very informative video for people who are new to motor homing, excellent couple with lots of information. Love there history tours when they are touring. 👍🏴👍🏴👍🏴🏴👍🏴
Picked up our new 574 last week, had the hand over and you are spot on.. most of it went straight over our heads. So your tips are invaluable and have helped us considerably !! Many, many thanks for that. However, yesterday we had our first ( and last we hope ) problem. The Swift command panel just froze, ( still on our drive luckily enough ) tapped on the icons and nothing happened.. I thought oops I've broken it already! Anyway I contacted Sargant who explained that it probably needed re-calibrating. This very helpful Guy talked me through the calibration procedure which is very simple and I had completed it within a couple of minutes and we were back in business. Unless you can tell me differently I've not been able to find this procedure anywhere and just wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience....
really good video explained in the simplest way, thanks bob. not all of us are seasoned motorhomers and are grateful to have all the workings demonstrated in this way.
Just bought a new swift 486 and am having anxiety dreams. This is the first video I’ve even started to understand even though I don’t know the difference between amps, volts and watts. Thanks bob. Please come and be our captain.
Many thanks, pick up our Kon Tiki Sport on 11 July..bought it at the Scottish Show, went on holiday and it has been in lockdown in Preston. Loved the part 1 and this has been really handy...last campervan was a 1994 Talbot Express...so a big leap in size and comfort!
Haha, my first handover, I forget it well. I picked up a caravan and next day drove it to a site in Snowdonia. Arrived in one piece and got it level and steadies down in 10 minutes, then..... mind went blank but fortunately I had a library of handbooks in one of the cupboards... 2 hours later I had it sorted , I think its a rite of passage....
Great tips again, I remember the first time I showered in the van, I was in the middle of shampooing my hair when the hot water out! I soon learned to turn off the water between rinses.🥶
Hi Bob and Jenny. Your Avtex TV has a powered USB socket which should power your TV stick, so power the TV stick direct from your usb on the TV and not use the 23ov socket. It works for my Now TV stick so no need to run a cable from a 12 v socket elsewhere. Cheers Phil and Helen. Watch every video you are our go to advice for motorhomes. Phil and Helen XX
Great videos Bob. I have 200W of solar panel on top of our caravan and I have run for over a week without hookup during the summer. Usually even when we have a 230v hookup, we let the solar panel look after the 12v systems, we don't use the battery charger.
Really helpful thanks for sharing this, we hire at mo, so this is great to see how long term ownership works. Can’t for the life of me think why this would not be liked video each to their own thanks again.
Very informative video Bob. We’ve been motor homing for 18 months now but there is always something new to learn. Looking forward to seeing you, Jenny and Poppy on your new adventures when we can all get away 😎
A Benivan 122 automatic very nervous about spending so much money but you have both put my mind at rest and you videos have been so helpful I try and watch them every day x
Another excellent video covering a complex subject. We've caravanned and motorhomed for 25+ years but still learnt something. We always use Chrome stick but our Avtex TV (which looks the same as yours) has a USB port on the back which provides the power for the stick. I picked up a short USB cable and it's neatened it all up perfectly. Keep safe and well.
Big thanks to you both, we hopefully get to pick up our new swift on july 1st, due to covid I don't think we'll be having a full hand over, so means our Van's are so similar I'm sure I will be referring to your videos quite alot thanks again bob and jenny 💖
Hi all. Have you ever stayed at the Cardiff site next to the cricket pitch (Sophia Gardens). It looks lovely and plenty of walks for Poppy along the river Taff etc. I want to explore S Wales. Never been to Tenby or the Gower or St Davids. Definitely on the to do list. Hope you are not entering cabin fever mode! Really informative video. I love all your top tips.
Hi Bob & Jenny. Just watched your video part 2 motorhome. On your alde heating control on motorhome panel can you operate just the water heater without the heating control on. Excellent video. Thanks.
I don't use the Alde control panel anymore, just the Swift Control panel, but yes, you can have just the water heater on without the radiators. They are separate systems. Just switch the electric and gas heating off and the water heating on (shower Symbol on the Alde).
I thought you might find this interesting . I’ve have had a Diesel car and diesel motor home for the last 12 years , and I’ve just purchased a new motorbike . Never did this before but put two and a half litres of petrol in my motor home , I felt a right burk : anyway I asked the Cashier and he said that two and a half litres of petrol will not affect the diesel and worked it out .he did say that if my motor home was petrol and Diesel is added and that would be no good . A very clever man from India . I think what threw me was having a petrol motorbike ,
Yes, you might not have seen the video when I did similar. I put 11 litres of petrol in and had to get someone out to drain the tank. The man who came said that it's probably OK if you put no more than 5% of petrol in your diesel tank, and fill it up with diesel, any more than that and you risk washing away lubricants in the engine and doing serious damage. ua-cam.com/video/E5h9ACj8BR0/v-deo.html
Very informative thanks Bob and Jenny. We have just purchased a 2018 Bailey autograph. We are totally new to the Motorhome world. We want a simple pop up to attach to the awning that would enable us to drive off site for the day. What can you recommend ? Also where did you purchase your thermal windscreen cover that seems an excellent idea from one of your other videos I have watched ? Lots of good advice but can you tell us why you shouldn't use a domestic tv 230 volts
You are better off using a 12v DC TV because you'll be able to use that when you are not on hook up, 12v TVs are generally more robust and designed as travel TVs and they consume less power..
