Those platforms are for trains switching directions. There is no connection between 2 units coupled together so the driver has to exit 1 unit and enter the other.
They are mostly used during special events at Holmenkollen.

12:50 the platform at holmenkollen is longer because sometimes they drive two-set trains up there for ski festivals, directly from majorstuen. Normally though, the back doors are just configured to not open across all the stations, i believe it's just a switch the driver has to press, so it's easier and safer if they don't need to remember to switch it off at holmenkollen and then back on at the next station

Thank you for watching and the info. That makes sense about running 6 car trains to Holmenkollen.

Nice video. Even if I have taken the subway to Frognerseteren many times, I did not know it was the subway line with the highest elevation difference in the world.
About the name "Stortinget", "Stor" means "Big", and "tinget" (the neuter and definite variant of the word "et ting") actually means "the assembly".
"A thing" is translated to the masculine word "en ting", which would be "tingen" in the definite form.
"Et tinghus" ("hus" = "house") is "a courthouse" for example.
And the Holmenkollen line was upgraded to third rail in 2010, not 2006.
Metro Liner has made a good timeline video of the metro and the earlier light railways of Oslo:

Pity you did not bring skies. Did enjoy your video. As a norwegian I'm also more familiar with the London Tube.

These trains have the type designation MX3000, so the number 3123 for example means the 3000 series, car number 1 and train set number 23. There are a total of 115 3-car sets.

@@HenrysAdventures I like your videos. If you take line 3 to Kolsås. You can take both the tram and metro from Jar and Bekkestua stations. At Bekkestua, theres a British Iceland grocery store too...

@@MichalBergseth-AmitopiaTV Thank you! I did do the tramline to Jar and Bekkestua but it was dark by then so I didn't make a video. I do hope to visit again in the future.
