Probably race related but we don't know yet. I live in Ohio I will be keeping an eye on the case to see what going on with it.
And if someone shot her they would be under investigation and possibly charged.

I saw this story the same day I read about a couple in Chicago who got jumped by a feral mob of youth and were beaten so badly the wife lost the baby she was carrying. A heinous evil is being allowed to fester in this nation and its making me very worried.

This was a hate crime and should be charged as such along with the other charges.
I was getting out of my truck to gas up yesterday, and a black guy started walking up to me from behind my truck to ask me to move up a little so he could squeeze in. I must've printed a bit, because he stopped, put his hands up, apologized to me, and backed away. (Maybe I self-consciously mean-mugged him a little, too.)
Anyway, I jumped back in my truck, locked my door, moved up a few feet, and checked that the guy was keeping his distance. He was already in his car and moved up right away, then ran inside the store.
As I was pumping, I saw a Hispanic guy across the pump and down the way, also pumping. He looked over at me with his arms crossed, and silently nodded.
Polite society.

I always carry a large "utility" knife on my belt it keeps most back. It helps just makes sure to always have your EDC and a back up if possible.

I have a 3 year old. The Los Angeles county sheriff's denied my CCW for "not having a good cause" right before the Bruen decision. They even made me wait for almost 2 years after my interview.
Think i care? Nope. Ive been carrying anyways since 2017. I never leave the house unarmed.
Here in LA county we can carry a pocket knife with 4in< so long as they double for utility. I have a 5in cold steel voyager I EDC, it's better than nothing.

@@tylerrobbins8311 I have known of more than one person caught carrying without a permit. Before you were gonna get a misdemeanor. now it's like a ticket if it's your first time. I know a guy who got caught with a "ghost gun" during the pandemic hysteria. It should have been a felony but they like dropped his charge or reduced it and he didn't even serve jail time.
Again I ask this question, why should any government agency be able to decide on whether you merit the right to carry a firearm to protect yourself. I don’t care where you live in any city or state in this country. ???. No one should ever have to ask permission to do so. Keep safe be aware and be armed.

this is local to me. i've shopped at both the Giant-Eagle and the VOA Thrift store. the city is a fairly affluent community but like anyplace, they have their dregs of society as well.
about a year ago, there was a murder-suicide at the same location.

I live in Ohio. This happened 45 minutes away from me. That is actually a very nice area for the most part. That is what makes this even more scary but just goes to prove how nice the area is bad people still live there. We do have constitutional carry here. I tell people all the time, if you are legally allowed to own a gun then you should be carrying one with you at all times. You never know what or where something is going to happen.
For some reason, maybe because a lack of people being rightly convicted for the crimes they are committing, I see this woman’s case being pled down just like her theft crime which she had already been arrested for.

I saw a sticker on a car the other day that said, " Protect children, not guns." How can you do any of that without a weapon.
To be honest, even though I preach about situational awareness, I am also guilty of lowering my guard. I don't want to look like I am crazy or a SUS for keeping my guard up every time I am in a public setting; I would assume that it would paint me as suspicious if I am watching my back so cautiously. Damned if my situational awareness kicks in, and damned if it doesn't (damned if you do and damned if you don't); scary times, folks. Stay safe.

*I LIVE IN NORTH OLMSTED.* I've been here more than 20 years. It is a middle and upper middle class town, also with some lower income apartments. It's a quiet town with a number of small town activities and resources. We have never had such violence before the Biden Administration. Two years ago there was an armed robbery at a Starbucks, also catty-corner from the Police Station. The robber was involved in a short car chase, and then a shoot-out with Police before being apprehended. This was the first gun crime I knew of in North Olmsted in the time I've lived here. The Giant Eagle grocery store is across the street from Starbucks. This woman came from Cleveland. They haven't said why she was in North Olmsted, but she did stop into the Police station earlier in the day to check up on some property of hers that they had from the previous time she was apprehended. That may have been why.
I started carrying in 2019. Even though I live in a quiet town, very safe, I felt it was something I needed to be prepared with. I also carry pepper spray in case that is the level of deterrent that is warranted. I also have 4 years of martial arts training. Since my firearm training, I have situational awareness. I think most people who carry have had this instilled in them. This has always been a safe town, and everyone felt comfortable going anywhere about their day. It's only in the past 2 years that something has changed, and this kind of violence has fairly arrived in our town.
This is the second knife attack like this in 5 days! White woman did the other one. I believe it happened Saturday and she also stabbed a little white child.
If the role is reversed the city would be on fire.
