Yeah they did cute songs before doing Loca (Loca kinda did well that's why most of their follow ups after that are like Loca or girl crushy) My fav song from them is 'Where are you from' which is a cute feel good song and I'm still listening to it from time to time haha

Second and third gen K-Pop are my most favourite and I also love me my rock and metal so any K-pop song that incorporates stuff like that usually scores high in my heart (think anything by DreamCatcher and N.Flying or JustB’s song Medusa). And then ANYTHING by P1Harmony and Purple Kiss is just veobvjeabe too (Anyone reading this: go stan them pleeeeeassseee! You won’t regret it!!! ❤❤❤) I’ll never say I dislike a song without having listened to it all the way through at least once (and hell sometimes I’ll come back to that same song days, months or even years later and fall in love with it instead) but there's definitely things that aren't my own personal taste. For example: I hate the nasally voices like Hyuna's. Hyuna's another story tho because she's always just seemed like a "try-too-hard" to me you know? Like she's obviously trying to be edgy and cool which just makes it all cringy to me. Moving on because I wish nothing but the best for Hyuna and that's just my personal preference of course! In general I tend to dislike songs that are considered “unconventional” and or “cringey” (for lack of better words) even by K-Pop standards and ones that are more heavy on EDM and experimental sounds (think that Taeyong and Hitchihiker collab Around, Banana Allergy Monkey by Oh My Girl Banhana, Catallena by Orange Caramel, Hmph! by WJSN Chocome and like any Crayon Pop song lol). Which is why a lot of this list is basically just a no for me. The few exceptions are Cheeky by El7zup, Female President by Girl’s Day, Liar Liar by OMG and Happiness by RV (though that last one is a rarity because there are like three RV songs I like and then I don’t like the entire rest of their discography).
The fact most of these are super cute girly songs is tearing my heart up rn 😭 How could anyone hate these when they all radiate pure sweet happiness?? Early Gfriend songs and Exquisite especially!!
Omg cocosori!!!!! I knew I was far deep into kpop when I discovered them and LOVED them 😂❤ Also, the other very specific kpop sound is that synthy girlish aegyo girl group sound. When I entered kpop I was like “nope I listen to girl crush what are these cutie songs not for me” but now… oh now I LOVE them they lift my mood like nothing else. I am so happy CSR and some other nugu groups are bringing back that sound
In terms of silly and cute kpop songs I would add Buster's "grapes", yeojin's "kiss later", oh my girl's "banana allergy monkey", snsd's "gee" and momoland's "jjan kkong kwang" (I love cute silly concepts :3 )
