Honest and helpfil review about the night market.
I enjoying watching your travel vlogs, JM, and love the helpful tips you share. Although, I was quite surprised that you did not enjoy Shilin. We stayed at an AirBnb right in front of the Shilin night mkt. We went there every night but it was quite big and crowded, lines everywhere so we couldn't try all the food we saw there. The fun starts at 7pm when all the stalls are open. Also, we skipped the covered area you went to bec it wasn't what we wanted to explore. You should've gone there at night and then walked further down the street where you saw HotStar. You know you've reached the heart of the mkt when you see the temple. Lots of great food and trinkets to buy. I remember seeing a lechon stand there and was surprised it was considered streetfood. Note that all night mkts in Taiwan has a temple. So the nearer you are to it, the busier it will be.
Shilin is really nice, when i was in taiwan for 5 days, i go there every night and eat stinky tofu and taiwan sausage, even the well know crispy chikcen is ther as well.the lower food area is also very good at night. Gabi tlaga ang life sa shilin night market. Siksikan tlaga dyan pag gabi, very festive
Best time is evening but not too late. Tho I prefer XImending night market in terms of food kasi magkakatabi talaga. Pero if pasalubong like keychains mas mura sa Shilin. :)
Hi JM. Just saw your vlog on Shilin. Been watching your vlogs eversince. Anyway, I already went to Shilin night Market a couple of years back, before the pandemic. Go there at night talaga so you can appreciate the night market. Madami food stalls and you can even smell stinky tofu kahit madami dyan nag iihaw ng mga iba iba sausages, squid, etc. The food court, hindi talaga yan ang famous. Shilin at night is like Raohe market, same food, same ambience. Sorry to say, baka mali lang yung time nung nagpunta ka. Just my two-cents. Anyway, keep up the nice vlogs. I enjoy coz you know how to communicate 😊
mas okay po pumunta ng gabi since mas madami open na stalls, mas ma appreciate mo yung night market nila. but for me pinaka the best talaga ang ximending para sa night market hehe. also mas malapit ang shilin night market if sa exit 1 ka lalabas from jiantan station. 😊
i agree the Night Market itself in Shilin is not that great BUT.. the surrounding area where it’s located is very interesting, some outskirts area are similar to Harajuku and Shimokitazawa of Tokyo
Night market siya like Raohe before and magkasama yung food and dry goods stalls with 1 long street w/ food sa bungad. It was livelier than Raohe before.
Awww so sad naman Shilin is one of my fave night markets in Taipei. But you have to go there ng medyo gabi na talaga like 7 also dun sa may temple is where the action is as in food and shopping! Well that's another reason to go back diba hahahaha
Same, mas nagustuhan ko din ang Raohe. Will give Shilin a chance at nighttime naman when I go back. Also, ang ganda tlaga ng vlogging style ni JM, walang gaanong cut so madaling sundan para sa madalas maligaw tulad ko. 😂😊
Sir JM, kami nagenjoy naman sa food trip in Shilin last 2017 kahit past 8pm na kami nagpunta. Siguro food stalls start to open at night, thus Shilin "night" market? haha! Super looove the milk teas bought at food stalls than the famous brands!
Bakit nung nagpunta kami jan nung 2020 before the lockdown street nightmarket ung napuntahan namin, as in open street and mga iskinita na maraming foodcart tapos maraming mga shops like abc mart, under armour, nike etc.
As in dyan sa street na nilakaran mo sa Shillin mapupuno yan ng sobrang dami sa labas as in pag baba mo palang dyan sa train haha but my Taiwanese husband also prefers Raohe night market just like you! :) anyways i love watching your japan vlogs!
Nag-iba na yung feel nung market when they transferred to the underground food court. Diyan yung orig na Hot Star when it was still aboveground.
Salamat po in advance 😊
😊🇹🇼 We shall return! ✨
Honest and helpfil review about the night market.

Shilin is a very nice place at night too, same as Raohe. 😊
Hello, San mas mura ang mga souvenirs?
Mas buhay ang Shilin kapag gabi at may pop-up stalls sa may road. Best time is evening but not too late. Tho I prefer XImending night market in terms of food kasi magkakatabi talaga. Pero if pasalubong like keychains mas mura sa Shilin. :)
Maganda dyan SA gabi JM,Sana SA gabi Ka nag try kase night market sya.maraming foods SA side parang raohe
Sana po mag travel vlog din kayo for Beijing and Shanghai CH.
Very informative vlog. Thank you. How many days do you recommend to stay in Taipei?

😅 hindi mo talaga sya maappreciate during day time. Sayang naman.
Pag gabi po nag bubukas mga stalls sa shilin..hehe papasok po sa may mga games2 and all nandun madami food..dapat gabi po kayo pumunta..

Thank you JM. Buti nalang sinabi mo na sa Jiantan dapat for Shillin night market. My original plan was to get off at Shillin station pa naman.
Hala, bakit may ibang sausage? @10:58 😆 Sana makabalik din ako ng Taiwan. 😍 Parang di ko kaya kainin yung stinky tofu! hahaha! 😖
Shilin is the same as Raohe. :)
Pag gabi yung food stalls sa Shilin Night Market. Madami din boutiques to shop for clothes.
Great sharing beautiful taiwan from Hongkong🇭🇰🇵🇰
Hi JM! Big fan of your vlogs. The frog eggs are really not eggs but basil seeds that swell up as they are soaked in liquid to resemble like frog eggs.
Wow Sana all mka pag travel , sama mo ako sir 😊
yey!! Hi JM! eto na inaantay ko. I will follow your itinerary
Sana you went to Ningxia or Ximending na lang, JM! But at least you have tried rin sa Shilin 😊
It is really better at night there in Shilin Market . Very different at night :)
U shud have went there at night. Very similar vibes with Raohe. 😊
I've been to Shilin Night Market, maganda at madami din syang food stalls sa gabi. Marami din tao hehe.
Same, mas nagustuhan ko din ang Raohe. Will give Shilin a chance at nighttime naman when I go back. Also, ang ganda tlaga ng vlogging style ni JM, walang gaanong cut so madaling sundan para sa madalas maligaw tulad ko. 😂😊
hay nako JM - every lunch time ikaw pinapanood ko - super good vibes ka! More food trip please! Stay healthy!

Try to go tp Ningxia Night Market
Hahaha
Done with this vlog cant wait for your next ❤
Hi jm!
Bakit nung nagpunta kami jan nung 2020 before the lockdown street nightmarket ung napuntahan namin, as in open street and mga iskinita na maraming foodcart tapos maraming mga shops like abc mart, under armour, nike etc.
you should go there nighttime still too early pa ang punta mo dyan
Request for cruise.. next time
Love your contents! Very informative.

Kudos to you for being adventurous sa food❣️👏🏻❣️
Tawang tawa ako sa "SAUSAAAAAGEEE" 😂😂😂
Maaga po kayo pumunta
Nag-iba na yung feel nung market when they transferred to the underground food court. Diyan yung orig na Hot Star when it was still aboveground.

May mild and "full-on" versions yung stinky tofu.
First Again 🖐️🖐️🖐️ hi sir 😁😁
Shilin was not like that last Sep2019.
Shilin will transform into a Raohe-like night market at night. You're too early for a night market pa.
Chill in Shillin 😂😂😂😂

Love it❤❤❤
Agree with you....dont like the vibe at Shilin Night Market
Salamat po in advance 😊
