This Man is the is an absolute Hero. My Pa was a rat of Tobruk and many of his mates were also. After the war He was not able to be transported back home because He was too sick. He eventually got home to his wife and children and therefore I also have children and nieces and nephews. If this dear man had not acted as he did how many more would have been slaughtered. He did what he was trained to do and He did it with humanity. Leat We Forget.
So proud of Australia during WW2,. Very special mention to the RATS OF TOBRUK. Gave the allies our first victory over the Axis. No match for the tenacity of the allies. You sent Rommel packing. Through your bravery. As an Australian. I say thankyou. LEGENDS, you all.
I've heard so many similar stories from these WWII infantry men who in the course of their duties, expressed deep sorrow for having killed soldiers of the opposing side. God bless this man for his humanity.
God bless you for your service and thank you for keeping us free. Thank you for sharing your story with us 🇺🇸. Had you not shot that soldier he would have shot you. Thank you for sharing your poem with us. I'm glad you were able to share.
