    I love group classes so much more than one on one. I don't consider myself super competitive but there is something about seeing classmates do better than me that really motivates me to study.

      I totally agree, even seeing non-native speakers speak fluently or knowing a lot of stuff about the language makes you realise that you CAN do better and that you will get there one day

    Setting realistic goals is indeed a great idea.
    Achievable goals will help you stay consistent, and consistency over time is the key to success.

    I’m doing the Lingoda quarter marathon right now and love it! I found self studying was way too much pressure for me. It’s really nice to have someone else handle the curriculum + teaching so I can focus on learning.

      Totally agree! I love how Lingoda lets you pick which classes you take and in what order so I can still be flexible and customize it for myself but I have really been enjoying the set curriculum taking away the effort of deciding what I need to work on or coming up with topics and things I can talk about with tutors

    Totally agree with making sure your goals are actually achievable! It's definitely good to aim high, but if it's almost impossible to realize that's not very helpful for motivation and progress

    Great video 😊 and congrats on your first sponsorship (I think), you really deserve it and it was really natural and fluid 😍 good luck with your 30 days of German lessons, it would be really interesting to hear your insights because I might consider doing something similar with Greek as a build up to spending 2 months there (June/July), but I'm not sure how tiring I would find it or if I would find it really energising and exciting to see so much progress - so it would be great to hear your experience 😊 good luck with it all!

    These are some great tips not only for language learning but for goals in general. Making larger overarching goals that are specified by short term goals can be really helpful because you get the best of both worlds. Instead of just “I want to increase my vocab this year,” it could be that *plus* quarterly/monthly goals of “this month I’m going to memorize this exact list of vocab” etc. Only making big vague goals is basically instant failure for someone like me who gets easily sidetracked hahaha. So I like your technique of making both yearly goals AND quarterly/monthly. Definitely easier to keep focused that way.

    Good video I'm sticking to language learning. Be realistic I like that! I am and continue to learn German so I can identify with the lady and my confidence needs a boost in speaking it's still very choppy.

    Anatolian Turkish verb conjugations
    A= To (towards /~for) (for words with a thick vowel in the last syllable)
    E= To (towards /~for) (for words with a thin vowel in the last syllable)

    MUŞ-mak = ~ to inform (muşu=inform - notice /muşuş=mesaj=message /muştu=müjde=evangel)
    that means -I've been informed/ I heard that/ I noticed that/ I got it/ I found out that/ or it seems such (to me)
    used as the suffixes= (Mış/ Muş - Miş/ Müş)

    Hey, Abigail. These are great tips which will be quite useful for me. I am an English language teacher and I have been learning German but I am not able to past the threshold which is a2 to b1 level for me last year and I think I could use some German tricks.

    My goals for Spanish for the first quarter: better my vocab. A reasonable amount of it, which will be 200 words/verbs. Also getting better with my pronunciation.
