EVM का जिन्न एक बार फिर से बोतल से बाहर आ चुका है. सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेश और लोकसभा चुनाव परिणाम के बाद लग रहा था कि EVM को लेकर विपक्षी दलों के नेताओं की रुदाली बंद हो जाएगी. लेकिन हजारों किलोमीटर दूर बैठे एलन मस्क के एक 'X' पोस्ट ने सत्ता ना पाने के गम और उम्मीद से बेहतर सीटें मिलने की खुशी के बीच झूल रहे विपक्षी दलों के नेताओं को फिर से अपनी नाकामी के लिए EVM को जिम्मेदार बताने का कारण दे दिया. राहुल गांधी ने तंज कसते हुए पोस्ट किया कि भारत में EVM ब्लैक बॉक्स है जिसकी जांंच करने की किसी को भी इजाजत नहीं है. चुनाव के दौरान भी EVM को लेकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट में याचिकाएं दायर हुईं थी. लेकिन सर्वोच्च अदालत ने दोनों पक्षों की दलीलों को सुनने के बाद ये साफ कर दिया था कि बैलट बॉक्स से चुनाव कराना एक तरह से पीछे जाने जैसा है. EVM पर आरोप लगाने वाले भी किसी तरह की गड़बड़ी की बात सिद्ध नहीं कर पा रहे हैं.
The EVM genie is out of the bottle once again. After the Supreme Court's order and the Lok Sabha election results, it seemed that the opposition leaders' wailing over EVMs would stop. But an 'X' post by Elon Musk, sitting thousands of kilometres away, gave the opposition leaders, who were swinging between the grief of not getting power and the joy of getting better seats than expected, a reason to blame EVMs for their failure again. Rahul Gandhi posted sarcastically that EVMs in India are black boxes which no one is allowed to examine. During the elections too, petitions were filed in the Supreme Court regarding EVMs. But after hearing the arguments of both sides, the Supreme Court made it clear that conducting elections through ballot boxes is like going backwards. Those blaming EVMs are also not able to prove any kind of tampering.
