Tbh i was once enticed by their perks such as free food, games room etc. But let me tell u guys, the excitement over such perks will only last within 2 weeks and ull find urself rarely making use of them. Ultimately the best career is one which empowers you and has a positive work environment.
agree with you! 😊 i see perks as extras (they’re called perks after all), the important thing to focus on is the job itself, career development opportunities, and etc :)
Absolutely true. Worked for Google Data Centre before. Free buffet breakfast & lunch (they serve crayfish dish once a week), on top of snacks & drinks. Used to stay in the cafeteria for nearly an hour for the first few weeks. Ended up staying for 15mins & went elsewhere as soon as I've finished eating for the remainder of my time there.
so exciting, I am going to fly to Singapore for my first job as a Shopee frontend engineer, very happy to see how the building looks like and it really really nice, way more than I expected
As a Singaporean, i wish i am blessed and be so privileged to be working with a company that appreciate their staffs. Been working for more than 6 years and i came to a point that i stop searching for a 'better' job.
when you've came to the point that your job is better than your trash like environment previous job...you tend to stick to your current job though you know there are better ones...you have to consider a lot of things before you leave like... 1. if i leave my company what would my next company think about me? a person who easily gets bored so you easily change your job? 2. does her experience qualify with our job? 3. if i change my job, i am scared that i will go back to having that trash like environment 4. if i leave my job, how can i be sure that i will get one right away? my bills won't stop even if i can't pay it 5. maybe they'll increase my salary if i just endure longer and so much more that you have more doubts on leaving...its not because we don't want to but its because we can't...when you get older and have a lot of bills and mouth to feed you will understand why people stay longer despite the complaints...
well shopee isn't that nice either. I've heard from insiders the working culture is pretty toxic. if u want to be appreciated, don't work for a company, especially big ones like shopee with many many stakeholders.
wow realizing that this is your only one video in this channel is surprise me. Like a pro youtuber the way you show us how your day. I agree to call thats a talent. I enjoy watch your experience as shopee intern. Please show more if you can
Hello my colleague from another country! I'm from Shopee Vietnam and I'm really glad to see this video! Everything looks familiar at all :). Btw, u're gorgeous
Was just searching for Shopee to learn about how to start selling and I am blown away of how well the building is constructed ! Hard work during high school pay off ! Good luck !
Being an intern there must be the best since u get to enjoy all the free perks w/o the stress & won't be expected to do too much work. I imagine a full-timer won't have the luxury of time to really enjoy all of those perks. Hope you enjoyed your time there!
We we're rejected on the company we were supposed to go because they didn't want to have "Face to face" internship. Bitch were graduating and you want us to stay at school become word encoders and print or photocopy documents? You shitting me school?
Wow what a nice office! I am also a electrical engineering intern at ITE college east but unlike your intern onboarding process we have a IA coordinator who posts me to Eetarp engineering company. Really like your sense of courtesy, and outgoing to company introduction!!
@@Darknesslc3 you know what’s worse? the norm in my company is that everyone still shows up for weekly meetings despite they’re on annual leave, but I’m not following the norm
Yes, that is the scam. I had an office where there was pool table and fusball table and free beer. But they made us stay back and work like dogs. I gladly exchange it all back and have them let me go home on time. Better yet, let me go back at 4:30pm like an organization I used to work at. It was really good life to be able to go back at 4:30pm.
Well, many companies are competing on the best office to attract the best people to work for them. And shopee looks great!!!! I hope you can show us (your viewer) more of the office. Great job!!!
Your video is interesting but when I try to find another one, hey... There's no more. I think u did a great job for your first video. Seems like professional UA-camr.
Fact: Shopee is a leading e-commerce company in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. One of its competitors is Singapore-based Lazada Group, whose major shareholders include Alibaba Group.
what kind of test did you get before the internship? and during this pandemic, is anyone there WFH or just go to the office as usual everyday?? thank you☺️
It is interesting, I don't think many people make this kind of video, well in fact your video has highest view of its kind Seems pretty cool place to work there, what I just kinda surprized about is 4 months long recruitment and 3 interviews Great video, hope you can create other videos Salam dari Indonesia

hey! thank you so much for this insightful video! i was just wondering, what type of credentials did you have on your resume at the time where you applied for this internship? I’m in JC now so my official work experiences will naturally be quite thin and i don’t know how to stretch it :/
Hi! As someone who's working in the HR department and in charge of internship, I usually look out for students who show interest, passion and love for the position that they are applying for. Honestly, official work experiences are just a plus point. Some key points I look for when I'm interviewing students are e.g. punctuality for their interview, have they done ample research on the company, do they know what they are applying for in terms of how well they understand the JD and also do their goals & passion align with the company. Ultimately, I strongly believe that interns are given the opportunity to join a firm to expand their knowledge and skillsets and be nurtured and groomed before they step into the "real world". So don't stress about it, be confident and I'm sure you can ace it! 👊🏻💖

True, because the time spent working is much more than the time enjoying those perks.

the best perk is work from anywhere. I'll definitely make use of that perk 100%

did u interview online?
the best thing here is the free food!! and also the working environment❤
yesss the free snacks

I LOVE this video! Can't wait to see more from you Alicia!
Hello!! Can you share about the criteria to get in Shopee as a Marketing Intern? eg previous work experiences, GPA, case comp
To get an interview with Shopee you must come from the top 3 local unis, GPA first class honours, hold several leadership positions in CCAs and clubs
This remind me of start up (korean drama) and kakao office 😍
Hiii, happy to drop by and see this. I'm a new starting-vlogger, and planning to do this for Shopee Philippines once we're allowed to work onsite

That's what I thought while seeing the thumbnail too.
I work for Shopee Thailand for over 3 years and that long working hours is such our culture in every country lol
Haven't u guys heard of the 9-9-6 working culture? Lots of OT, that's why they give free snacks and food so u never need to leave office.
being an Asian, overworking is the culture regardless free snack or not..
