Like you said, a good mod platform. Still on the fence but the price is pretty good for a cheap "shred" guitar. Thanks for the video! All the best from the Bay Area, MK
I recently acquired an 80s striker 100st with single locking Floyd and a mid 80s striker 200st with Floyd Rose II. Both have matching banana headstocks
This guitar truly is the best of both worlds. It is a shredding machine but can also act like a Strat. Yes, you could buy the likes of an Ibanez RG if you’re a shredder, but they very much feel like a guitar only for shredding as the neck is incredibly thin. The Kramer has a neck very similar to a Strat.
If it weren't for Dagan, I wouldn't be adding a Kramer to my shopping basket. I was never interested until I found the PMTVUK channel. What an awesome brand, and incredible guitars!
I don’t know how, but I got mine to sound like Ed’s Kramer 5150 right out of the box. It’s a dream to play, and once I’m through with it it’ll be even better. My only complaint is a small manufacturing oversight, one of the screw holes in the body where the neck is supposed to insert doesn’t line up quite right.
Do you think it is the best guitar to sit on the coach and play with yourself on . Because I like to play play with myself while on coach. Sometimes when I'm on a chair I am always finding myself hitting the headstock against the wall when I sit down. I like the scale lines that reminds me of a fender guitar. Which I have someone sort of thick and big stubby hands. And every time I play defender I've always had plenty of space to mash my fingers down in.
I just bought the exact same one you have, the Purple Passion Metallic, only in a lefty version. My goodness, it is so very comparable to my lefty EVH Striped Series guitar made by Fender for literally a quarter of the price. I'm getting the Red one too. I cannot believe how good the neck feels on this thing. Like my EVH guitar, they seemed to follow Eddy's preferences for a straight up satin, no finish fretboard neck. I can't emphasize as to just how awesome this guitar is for the price.
@bluwng Not really, but I sort of retract some of the things I said in this comment, as it was out of excitement. The guitar is decent but doesn't stay in tune. The pickups are not the best, and the bridge sucks because it just can't stay in tune. Those fine tuners on the bridge wear out, and soon you find yourself having to keep tuning the guitar and resetting those fine tuners. Can't compare with my EVH at all, except as in a platform to spend more money on to upgrade.
The Propper move would have been to have the HH pickup config paired with the striker headstock, Kramer should have paid me for an estetics consult and they wouldn't have fumbled the bag on this one
You seem to know a lot about Kramer guitar's. I bought a new one around 86-87. It was a Focus 3000, although I don't remember seeing the Focus 3000 written on the front of it. It was a dark metalic pink, and it wasn't cheap. I'm trying to find out the year and the name of the color. I picked it out at a music shop way back then. If I could be so fortunate to find one, I would be so happy. I've searched the internet and can only find an ugly powder pink, which is not what I want. Oddly enough, I bought a 68 Lemans convertible and I did a lot of the work on it. But it was just about the same color as my guitar was. If you know of any, please let me know. Thank you
