I had ridden two-wheelers for many years. My most recent bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700. I loved it but it reached the stage where it was getting too much to get up off the stand and to handle at low speed in town. I decided I wanted to keep riding so I went for a Can Am Spyder. I have a 2012 RT Ltd. I considered the Ryker but I wanted a few more creature comforts and the bells and whistles that go with the Spyder. For someone who has never ridden a two-wheeler there is nothing to unlearn but for a former two-wheeler rider I had to unlearn all the skills I knew and learn some new ones. This is tricky because I also own a Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter. The extra stability of the front wheels is a big safety feature. For an elderly person (like myself at 71) or someone with a slight build the challenge of holding up a big bike is not a problem and so the Ryker or Spyder is a good option. I hope you have many hours of enjoyable riding and I look forward to more of your videos.

Yes, Tom being a 2 wheel man would agree with you.
I love the Spyder’s but it’s affordability for us; AND, I don’t think I would be allowed to legally ride one because they are not fully automatic 🤔🤔

@@RelishtheRyker-Downunder That of course is a bonus about the Ryker the CVT twist and go is just so much easier.

In Norway you can ride three wheeled bikes on a car license. There's an exception because of the three wheels.

I think that is the way it should be here as well. Thank you for commenting.
We have been to Norway, it is so beautiful.

Here in Texas they have a special 3 wheeler provision you can get on your drivers license. They want you to take the two day 8 hours each day class. There are 8 hours total of classroom time and 8 hours total of on the cycle time. You are not allowed to use your own bike. You have to use the big touring spiders that are provided. Then there is a written exam at the end of the two days. Then you simply wait a few days for the school to electronically notify the state that you passed both the driving and written tests. You walk into the department of motor vehicles, you give them your current license. It is simply replaced with a new license where you are endorsed for automobile and the three wheeler. You will not be able to legally drive a two wheeler. . In California when I lived there, you did not have to have a special provision for a three wheeler You could just use your regular automobile license. I took the class anyway while there and had a blast. I easily passed the class. However the big C then happened, then some financial issues happened. I then did not want to finance. So I have been saving. And will have cash to pay in about two months. Texas requires that you take the class in Texas because the rules of driving on the road are different than California. So I should probably begin looking for the class. Hopefully there is not a waiting list. I want to drive Route 66 next summer after I get back from Spain. I think I am going to get the 900 cc engine. The USA is so huge ( as is Texas…..lol…). That it would be difficult to get anywhere without spending some time on the freeway. But as much as possible I will avoid the freeways and drive what I really enjoy which is the country roads through all the beautiful small towns and smaller cities. I am not a big city girl. I also live out in the country like you.

Thank you for your interesting feedback. Wow, I thought Australia was strict; that’s very intense.
It annoys us here in Aus. that there are different rules for different states. We don’t understand why it can’t be the same across the country. I guess it is understandable in the USA having 50 states but still annoying.
Interesting about the touring spyders that are provided. We have to use our own as 3 wheelers are not provided. If you are going for a two wheeler licence and don’t have your own, you have to pay quite a bit to hire one of the training centre’s. Of course, I speak for NSW and the company I went through but it could be different in other states.
I too have suffered the big C and the process was horrid. Grateful that I and yourself are here to tell our stories.
Our next video to come is exciting for me and I hope you see it. We wanted to record today but it is miserable weather with rain coming so hopefully in the next few days.
Thank you for watching. It makes us happy. 😊❤️

      No plans on the 600.
So pleased to hear you are enjoying your Ryker at 82. Not sure I will be able to get my leg over the seat if I reach 82.
We have only been to Alaska and Seattle airport in the USA but maybe one day will go further afield. 😀

Australian motorcyclists can’t finger each other as they drive past, due to need to take hand off throttle
