  • This 1926 commercial car fuel tank is made from two damaged tanks. During restoration it was clear the screenside gas tank would have a void between the outer steel shell and the inner fiberglass lining. I thought it should be filled with something and the logical payload was... everything. I had already scanned all my Dodge Brothers photos and documents and I had a collection of DB related videos. Digital storage being what it is today I could store my 30 year collection of DB history on a single 128 gigabyte micro SD card. I included 2 identical SD cards in case something happens to one and the SD card packaging to aid the finder with identification.
The tank itself fits under the seat and the Time Capsule cannot be accessed without removing the tank from the vehicle. The intent is the Time Capsule will be lost and forgotten until someone in the distant future removes tank for repair.
The music is Public Domain - Jig Walk (1926) by Earl Oliver & His Orchestra. More details of this gas tank project can be found in the JUL/AUG 2020 Dodge Brothers Club News. Video created and posted on 01 August 2020.
Part 1 describes the restoration of the tank itself.
The DBscreenside channel features video and still images from the first Dodge Brothers car in November 1914 up to present day restorations. This 30 year collection of material has some connection to John and Horace Dodge, the Dodge Brothers Company, Commercial Cars, and especially the famous DB screenside Business Cars of the 1920s. Tools and materials are dangerous. Do not attempt to duplicate any part of this video.
