While Highrange seem to have more power and better fuel, I run Offroad or Advanced Special in all my trucks. I don't want to give up Low+ and Low- gears.
Ditto there's few places I need to race to and will get no damage, I use OR or Off range as I think it's called on some mod trucks I use and it does the trick all the time I'm always in mud, swamps or snow mostly. When I'm on a map with easy routes it seldom and short so why use HR and waste a gear ....also I've had less than 4 flat tires in my whole snowrunner gameplay so yeah I critique driving 👍
Interesting, on the talk of high gears, I've switched all my US trucks from offroad to highrange, and they seem to be much more capable with the highrange gearbox because of the insane amount of momentum they can carry
RPM governor levels are different in various gears so Im not sold that its a 1.0 modifier and a 1.25 modifier for high only. reverse, high and low all have the same RPM cap, low- has a higher RPM cap than low (but not by much) and low+ is equivalent to Auto 1st. the *only* truck I have not found this to be the case in is the Mastodon in which every gear has the same RPM governor. Just something which may also contribute to why the crazy starting torque values of the Mastodon make it the hardest pulling truck in game (no matter the gear) from a dead stop. This in my eyes was also the source of its power/wheel stall issues when it initially released, every gear was stuck at the lowest RPM cap. RPM onset speed is also different, which i think is tied to the engine responsiveness values in the game files. its only allowed 'X' time to hit that cap and thus low- gets to its cap in the same time low+ does and to do this it has to rev faster. Tire grip levels also play a huge part in this, not the friction values, but the actual traction being applied to the ground in game. Engine RPM will drop off substantially in a hard pull situation if one wheel breaks loose and you are suddenly stuck just like losing traction on one wheel in an open differential which is 50/50 torque split, or exceeding the TBR of say a traditional clutch type limited slip or Torsen. Only issue is the way the game handles how this works doesnt have any real baring on reality because of the RPM governor system.
Wolf pack dlc with highrange and biggest motor🔥 Started a new game using just those and navistar for high saddle missions. Sold fleet and 9500 right away. Even tho i always pick up awd for 9500 and twinsteer first thing.
Kennworth Highway gearbox always felt off, now I know why. Though even if it had better gearing, Advanced Special would still be better for AWD without additional fuel cost.
Very interesting, and yes I agree on the choice of "Just send it" still being the 605R. I've been using the 605 less and Mastodon more but it's just still very big and while it's gotten better with it's front end, it still likes to bang about now and then. But all these charts with the gearboxes makes me wonder what the charts for comparison between the Tatarin with it's Adv Sp, and the Burlak and it's gear boxes. That might help me understand more about its power distribution.
I'm pretty sure the Tatarin uses the same advanced special. When you look at the picture i showed with the gearboxes; that is essentially the special gearboxes as well as the normal ones that are on most vehicles. The tatarin is just the advanced special which is already amazing. The Burlak; Im not sure tbh
From my understanding its hard to measure the low gear due to the slider, so its unknown how it works, but I think everything else is similar to the Offroad Gearbox
@@lamp4498 I used Fine Tune when it came out, really did feel more torquy than the Offroad. I'd kept using it if the gear shifter wasn't so damn slow getting into Low and Reverse.
Why does overdrive have a 25% torque bonus? I never use it since going fast is hazardous enough in the regular gears. I'd think Low is where you'd get a torque bonus...? Was confused what Mastodon was, but I guess it's a DLC I never noticed. It's pretty much the same as the old E-7310?
Not sure why there is a 25% torque bonus in high gear, however high gear in a slower gear box is actually a slower speed and is rather nice. The Mastodon is the Zikz612H and yes its the old E-7310

Well I did mention this is not from the developers, but it is Pavels original model from MudRunner, but testers and data miners have concluded that the evidence for this is there. Also it would be alot if work to add into the game I feel
Idk if high range is all that good for me. Any amount of speed on the tarmac seems to skate around like it's on ice. Even if the truck gets good traction the trailer seems to slide around and toss my load. 😂 No pun intended

For me it just depends if the truck has always on diff or not. If so I like high range
The Chevy 1500 made me too attached to Low+ to let it go. That thing turns the little redneck-mobile into terminator.
The WWS with the 4 speed gearbox just feels right too

The pace can be pretty quick and ya i can see that helping them
I'm a stat nerd myself so I find videos like this fascinating! Thanks, and god bless!
Likewise! God bless you as well!
I wish we could have a 4 gear shlushbox in the don that would miss every gear except the third gear, realism
More disgusting than the Mastodon's geabox is the fact that many years later we still don't have the option of manually use those gearboxes.
Fantastisk just what I was looking fore . And the awd penalty is also interesting. You know trying to save fuel

I can agree this has no baring on reality

Indeed, the adv spec is the GOAT imho
Hey Nathan, did you see the new tires and new truck??
I was just on stream looking at them both. A lot to digest at the moment, but they are interesting
@@NProvince gonna be waiting for your video/stream fragment on this :)
I always use Auto on high range gearboxes, sending these trucks down hills to the objective is fun, then high gear takes care of hauling

Do we know about fine tune?

@@NProvince really feels like fine tune should allow you to just change the ratio of high gear through the functions menu

Same here I don't like damaging my truck and needing repair spots or trucks all over I don't smash up my trucks at all I drive smart and efficient.

Ya also taking more damage at speed is a common occurrence as well :)
High range all the way
Who cares about safety when you could go fast and fly off of a cliff?
That’s one way to play lol
