With fast sedans getting a bit of a revival in the past couple of years, we race three of the hottest under the 25 lakh rupee mark - the Volkswagen Virtus GT, Hyundai Verna Turbo and the Skoda Slavia. All three get turbocharged petrols under the hood and all three are quick, but only one can be the winner.

You shouldn’t be revving the motor in neutral and slotting it into the gear, quite sad that!
Being a Skoda fan, I will still go for the Slavia. But boy did Hyundai shock everyone with their new Verna. Great work Powerdrift and Hyundai!!!!!
Yes, they have destroyed every argument VW had in their favour. VW relied to much on their 5 star rating and now they dont have even that. Virtus/Slavia badly needs a price cut in their GT models.

Guys I have been your long time subscriber & really like your videos. However, the drag race videos are seriously lacking in some aspects - your console game like graphics for these is appreciable, but why remove the important specs in such a hurry?
Also, the all important vehicle weight is termed as N/A for many vehicles which shouldn't be the case. And the power to weight & power to torque ratios are completely missing. I guess apart from tire type, transmission type & gear ratios, the power to weight & power to torque figures are deterministic figures for drag races.
Please improve on these parameters.

The design of the new Verna is flawless! It looks majestic unlike any other commercial car. Hyundai who is not known for its DCT has done great improvements!

Yes, but verna turbo is a faster car than both Slavia and Virtus anyways.
@@johndavidson3424 Faster in a straight line, yes. But the steering feel on Hyundais feels very disconnected. You'd feel more confident throwing around Slavia than Verna.
@@SapienHunter Yeah, but N-line would do it's job here. They've improved that feel in N-line with the cost of hard ride quality feel, it can be balanced though they overdid it in N-line. As for regular in Hyundai's, steering outputs are said to be responsive by auto journalist, although it also has a take for smooth comfortable ride quality which means extremely soft suspension and very light steering on high speeds too to add refinement factor, that's why Verna including other Hyundai's are so in-agile around corners with inconfident feedbacks than rivals.

The steering feel is not marginally better. There is good amount of difference in handling.
The pricing for both is almost the same. So, a better handling car any day.
Skoda also has very good ground clearance which makes it more usable on Indian roads.

Re uploaded video, the way Cyrus launched the Slavia has been cut. Over smart editor
the video was reuploaded because of a glitch in the driver selection slate. The rest of it remains same. Over smart viewer.
I own a virtus 1.5 GT. Front parking sensor, 360 camera and no electronic seat adjustment are the 3 main drawbacks. Apart from that I love my car
Now it comes with electrical adjusted seats, the one which I own. It also doesn’t have the rear disc brakes
Why not the manual Virtus GT and manual Slaiva 1.5 against the Verna 1.5
For me the surprise was to see difference between salvia and virtus..need some more validation from autocarindia as well
It's simple, dsg gearbox responds differently at different times, if it was driven bit harder already the gearbox takes it bit easy for sometime.
@@Aditya-zb9ir maybe there is also a possibility of VW tuning it more towards reliability..
The point is it’s not hard for Hyundai or VW/Skoda to make faster cars. The art is to do it without compromising on reliability which VW/Skoda are pathetic at and Hyundai is amazing at.

Not a big enough gap that Slavia was able to create with Virtus when Verna was in the first round and in the second beating it convincingly even after 10 HP and 3 Nm torque less

More than the engine tuning between Slavia and Virtus.. the tires contributed a lot I feel. The stock Goodyear tires that Virtus gets is crap
Verna manual is even more snappier, if they release its n-line, it will be the sporty sedan for india.

The editor needs a little training in color grading and aspect ratio. Although the video is cinematic but he has used fake black bars instead of using correct resolution so it can be watched in fullscreen on a 21:9 display.

I own a Virtus GT and have never lost a drag race against Verna. NGL Verna had always been my first choice when I was buying a sedan, but that race made me buy Virtus. There seems to be something wrong with the Virtus in this video. That boy is a beast in S2-S3

it's all about the skill i literally smoked honda amaze manual with my i20 NA ivt and yamaha fzs v3 with my ntorq... no matter what you ride and drive if you have skill, prediction and guts you can win any race in traffic... but in the open highway there is no replacement for displacement.
