To address the issue at the end of have the clock synced by the controller, or the software in this case, you need to press function, then on the lower right corner press write/next button and back button at the same time, then selecting the midi would have synced the td3 to the clock of the software
I saw where sync was achieved by pressing the two buttons on the far right of the TD3 and then hitting MIDI (or USB) to sync it to an external MIDI source clock.
I am having the same issues syncing the clock from FL with the TD-3. I have not been able to figure it out. I want to record the patterns from my TD-3 to FL with the clocked sync from FL. I can activate the TD-3 when I press the spacebar, but it stops the pattern and resumes it right where it left off, instead of completely restarting the pattern to keep it in sync with the clock.
@@Doruksen I ended up getting a drum machine and FL synced with that no problem. Then I just midi synced the td3 from the drum machine and I was able to work around the issue.
Very frustrating. I can sync fl studio to the TD3 but then I can't use the internal sequencer at all. All I want to do is sync the clock so I can play at a precise BPM for recording a track and adding drums. This is so frustrating.
Hi, I have just bought a TD-3. It didn't come with a MIDI cable. I also have a FocusRite audio interface. From my understanding I just need to buy a 5 pin midi cable to plug into my TD-3 and then the other end has a 6.5mm headphone jack that goes into the back of the audio interface?
Great video! I tried everything, Studio One with their weird way of connecting stuff, no sound.. only in internal mode. Midi and usb not, and I did change the settings. I did got to play notes on my midi keyboard with Studio One. Then I tried FL, followed precisely what you showed.. no sound and not being able to draw my own notes. I saw somebody in Cubase doing the same. Midi channel should be on on everywhere. So at the end I have sound in internal mode without a midi clock function, and controls don't work on the TD-3 either after playing on the midi keyboard, and that's not what I was after. Incredible how I overlook something now for 3 days.
can anyone point me in the direction of programming in the parameters in fl studio's MIDI out? the user manual of the td3 explains midi information but not how it relates to a daw.
Hello, Can you add patterns or effects from fl studio for example? Does it have a memory so every time you turn it on you can play that recorded stuff? Thanks
you missed that not the "pitchmode" button gets you to the midi selection, its > Function + Back +Write/Next < ..what you did was changing the pattern ;) Except of this..thanks for the nice tutorial! :) Got one problem.. when I press play in FL with notes added to the piano roll, it seems I always have to press start/stop on the TD one more time (put it to stop) to hear the midi notes. Do you know this problem and did you maybe figure out a way to solve this?
Thanks. I couldn't get the TD3 to respond to my piano roll score. Did you need to hook in a keyboard to trigger this functionality? Where am I going wrong?
You got to make sure that the midi group is the same as the port you selected. In the piano roll you can write midi notes with up to 16 groups (if memory does not fail me). You can also try to see if you get sound from the MIDI out plugin and also make sure you are recording the input coming from the TD3
@@DailyBeatsPt Thanks for your help. I managed to get it working. Although it syncs with play and stop. The midi sync itself seems. Have you noticed this kind of latency?
I connect the TD3 via USB for configuration like setting presets. Then I have the audio interface midi out connected to the midi in of the TD3. Then the audio output of the TD3 connected to the input of my audio interface. I did not get good results by using the TD3 via USB to send midi but you might have more success than me 😊
I want to buy a midi controller for my td3. Can I connect the midi keyboard directly to the td3 without a seperate hub? What connections do I need on the keyboard? Thanks
Yes you can. You just need a normal midi cable to connect both devices. You just have to make sure the keyboard you buy has a midi out port. The more affordable keyboards sometimes only have a USB port to save costs. Hope it helps 👊😊
PLEASE HELP. Is there any way to sync ONLY the clock from FL studio and not the note data?. All I want to do is play the TD3 at a precise BPM not just random speed with the knob! That way I can record other stuff later at the same BPM and add drums and stuff and everything will line up. But when I sync to FL studio I loose the ability to play the patterns I created in the TD3. I've been trying to figure this out for hours! If you know what to do please help. How can I play my patterns at precise BPM?
Man dude. I just got a td-3 and have been having a bitch of a time syncing it with my mpc studio 2. All I want is to perform some pattern sequences with drums, in time. Spent the last two day trying to figure it out. So frustrating!
Amazing explanation. Thanks for sharing mate.

Wichtig cable do you need to connect the Td3 with the Interface?
There is trouble with Tascam 2x2 soundcard. I don't know what do do. I connected the all like in the video, but my TD-3 plays with swing.

I have a question. The midi is midi -mini plug. ? For the audio interfaz ?

The synctool never was provided to me. And I guess I'll need to buy a midi cable cause my new device didnt come with one
The synctool is something you have to download by yourself and the midi cable too unfortunately.
