I took a photo of Ale's board at their show in NYC this past May. I have also seen this set up in several shows I have seen since.
She plays a USA Custom Spector with a pretty simple board.

Bass player here. Ale cares DEEPLY about her tone. And heck, tone is from the fingers, and she's a generational talent. Some comes from the bass she plays -- she's got that EMG active humbucker + HAZ preamp combo that is really punchy, and the Spector through-neck design gives you sustain FOR DAYS. She uses an Ampeg SVT + fridge on stage but I bet most of what you hear is DI through the PA. Very simple pedal board - some boost, not much else. Queen of tone.

It’s te-ah-troh (Teatro) which means theatre in Spanish.
The “Americanized” way of saying the venue name would be Metropolitan Theatre. It’s located in Mexico City which is referred to as CDMX for Ciudad de México.
They recently performed another pro shot concert at the Pepsi Center in CDMX along with shows in Guadalajara and Monterrey that will likely be combined into a similar concert video as these Teatro Metropolitan shows were.

Before the error album Ale said she only played clean. She got a Line 6 HX Stomp. Before the recording. Said that she would use it in the production and that it was the only effects she had at the time. This was in a 2020 gear rundown. Not sure if she still uses it. . The punchy part of her sound is just that Spector NS-5XL with the band's lightning bolt logo set as an inlay and a custom "fire" finish. Spector actually named this finish "Ale's Inferno" and it is now available as an option in the US custom shop.bass . She has said that is one of the reasons she loves it. Its puncher than the fender she started out playing. And about the equal of the Rick Toone Bass she played before her sponsorship with Spector. She uses DR High Beam handmade strings. Side note Ale got her Spector deal before the recording of Error. so used them in the recording. Dany on the other hand Used her Rick Toone Guitar, plus two others that Rick set up and brought to the studio for recording the album.( plus a couple of David Bendeth from his classic collection of 50's and 60's models) Her PRS sponsorship started around the time the recording was over i believe. Rick Toone said that he would have loved to sponsor them. But didn't have the assets to provide them with the support that they deserved. Dany does however have a second sponsor with Manson Guitar Works.

Ale' is playing a Spector 5-string bass custom built to her specifications- that is where that tone is coming from, and no- she does not use a bass pedal.... along with either an Orange Amp or a Mesa Boogie. Absolutely ass kicking!

I recently saw an interview with ale on her bass setup. She said she used d`Addario nyxl 45 to 130 bass strings, aguilar tone hammer pre-amp. pedal, microtubes bass overdrive distortion pedal, emg x pickups, an ampeg bass cabinet with mesa amp. I saw it on Digital tour bus gear masters ep. 473 here on You Tube.

As others have said, her bass suits her. She has magical fingers. Pressure on the left hand string fingers and how she plucks with the fingers on her right hand have a part in the tone. She is amazing. She says her timing is more accurate when she uses a pick, and her fingers don't hurt as much, but she started learning jazz bass and it was ALL fingerpicking. She is technically perfect. Wether pick or fingers, she will use what makes the song sound the best. Pau has used an 18" snare drum for a "sound", and Dany would use an ukulele if it makes the music sound better.

The videos in Metropólitan, which like D2D belong to the epic concept album "QOTMS", should encourage new fans who have not fully heard it to do so because there really are some rock gems there.
They have a formidable innate talent, each one of them. Innate but with practice taken to the sublime.
Despite their youth, they already have a lot of experience on their path in addition to their great preparation since they were children.
Their attitude, discipline and will to achieve their goals are leading them to great, well-deserved achievements.
They are still on the road to the top, but with too much potential, enough to think it will be inevitable.
Furthermore, the volume of quality that each of their creations implies is great… and the number of songs that carry said quality is enormous, which for me could be “The Warning label.”
I’m sure that each of their creations is subjected to a meticulous quality process before finally seeing the light…
And not only in the technical aspect, but we have also already proven that they have an exquisite taste for good music that emanates from them when they become inspired and creative.
Added to all this is that they are surrounded by an excellent family and fraternal team totally committed to their project…
And they have a fan base, “The Warning Army”, tremendously loyal to them that is decisively involved in supporting them because they have deservedly earned it for being incredible and surprising human beings.
Knowing this will give you a much better perspective to better value DPA, and maybe you will understand that TW is not just a band of talented girls who make good songs…
No, it's about music, really art with the brilliance of a "masterpiece" created and performed by three genius performers from an early age who have been developing and evolving by leaps and bounds.
The beauty of their art lies in its simplicity.
Each of these amazing rock masterpieces must be appreciated in all its dimensions and then be surprised again that they are creations of those who have wonderful talent but who, due to their age, still have much more talent to develop.
They are already admirable but their potential increases exponentially as they achieve success.
As long as all this continues to flow with this equation they will soon reach the top of the world where they deserve to be.
We're always looking for more from our favorite band of all time.
Thanks and regards from México!! 🇲🇽
    🤘😁✌️

Being a Bass player myself I can understand your frustration! Well, it’s a USA Custom 5 string active. She uses (I think) an orange amp into an Ampeg 4x10 cab, but sometimes it goes into an Orange cab which I think is a 2x10. I think she uses a pedal for some drive but not distortion and I’m pretty certain that it’s the power amp that’s getting pushed not the pre amp, so you get a very warm punchy sound.

Also, if you can tell from her technique, she was trained as a jazz fusion bassist by her teacher, with that type of technique. But she loves heavy rock tone, so has found the ultimate recipe that works for her. Having a custom made signature USA Spector artisan made neck through Alejandra Villarreal signature bass with chambered body, her own choice of pickups and preamp, her own custom finish (named Ale’s Inferno… You can order that finish on custom Spector basses now), neck through, literally every ideal design choice she could make… That certainly helps

and she usually uses her fingers instead of a pick and plucks close to the bridge.... but I have no idea if that last part affects the tone... just an observation. I think Ale has the best bass tone I've ever heard in my life (more than 50 years), and I don't make statements like that very often (sounds a bit grandiose). I think her tone is a product of a fairly simple combination of things (educated guess). She plays a Spector bass that has active pickups in it (EMGs, I think). I think that's where some of the drive (overdrive) is coming from, and other than that, I think her signal is clean, but she might be using a preamp pedal. I'm also pretty sure they mic. her cab. on the outer edges of the speakers. I'm pretty sure that's it. I know she uses Ampeg amps when she can, but she uses Orange sometimes, too.

*Dust to Dust* is the intro song on DPA/TW's "Queen of the Murder Scene" concept album (aka QOTMS)... it is inviting you in to hear the deep, dark, and foreboding story of a young woman apparently in love with someone that doesn't even know she exists... it follows her battles between good and evil over her soul... the Spanish speaking part is their manager, Rudy, playing the part of a preacher at the funeral... translated, this is what he says...
Brother! Salvation is something that is earned!
Let go of your hand of resentment and
Wake up to a new light within you
    Although your brothers try
    Plunge into the darkness
QOTMS is one of those albums best experienced by listening to it from beginning to end in order... listening to each of the songs piecemeal and out of order is like trying to figure out a movie by catching a portion near the end, one from near the beginning, and one near the middle... yeah, it won't work out very well...
as a concept album, many of us members of TWA can easily see it as a movie or Broadway stage performance... it is that good and to think it was written by them at a very young age and released as their 2nd album! i mean... whoa! who does that?? 😹
