Knossi & Knüppel Win $120,000 & SMASH Twitch Records!!!

- A new Twitch poker RECORD was reached days ago as popular German content creator Jens “Knossi” Knossalla streamed his reaction to one of his moderators named Knüppel, reaching the Final Table of a $1,000 buy-in event on Pokerstars and playing heads up for the $160,000 first place!!! This reaction came when they were down to heads-up and Knuppel was all-in for the win. I will breakdown who both of these people are, how the moment came to be thanks to Pokerstars, what impact this might have on poker and the downsides to gambling.

@@Antzzz_Manzzz JOEY INGRAM MIDWEST POKER
@@joeingram1 nice video btw!!! i saw the FT livestream on twitch as well. greetings from Austria. #teamknossi :) short YT replay from Knossi - link -> ua-cam.com/video/K0nmNvpRfA0/v-deo.html
I feel like a pokerboom is slowly happening.
Almost 10 years ago I started watching KSI videos. A year ago I started playing poker.
Now Pokerstars made videos with the Sidemen (with KSI) and KSI is now one of the biggest stars in the world. It´s incredible, I can see many people becoming interested in poker now, although their age seems to be around 12 years lol
While watching it i was more hyped for knueppel to win than i would be for myself. It was a great stream!
We need Knüppel on the podcast.
You hit the nail on the head joe. Blending online gaming and online poker is the future. Pulling that crowd is 100% the next untapped resource. How many people came from magic the gathering back in the day!? Lots. You get top strategy gamers to make the leap, you got something. And like you said these guys followings are huge! We need to bridge this gap and make it happen!!!
Love this story, you are always the first to break it down more stories like this
All Germans are required to wear scarfs while playing online.
Dude psychic pulse reads.
you're the best - thank you for the content and all the effort you put in!
I appreciate that!
Great that you're covering this, taking notes!
My man Papi!!...glad you are back poppin'...Best to ever do it!
Alge
Great vid Joey. Keep them coming. Thx
Thanks, will do!
Great bit at the end about microtransactions. My thing is this, you can get good at poker. You can NEVER get good at buying packs. Add in the fact that after the new game comes out your cards are dead and you gotta build up a new team.
As someone who played a lot of MLB The Show, the amount of time you can invest grinding on a team would be better used learning the game of poker. The rush of running deep in a tourney pales in comparison to anything I've ever experienced in a video game.
Saw it live. Was really refreshing and motivated me as a pro
loving the fresh energy big dog!
Thank you very much
This guy is an electric factory
Knossi was last month biggest streamer by viewers world Wide and Second biggest by twitch subs with 50k subs
That is really sick - great work by him. I know it can't be easy.
We don't do twitter.
Great story. Love this Joey
The most probable reason why this guy won a car at a tournament, is the fact that in Germany only licensed, state run casinos are allowed to run cash games or tournaments with cash prices.
The only work around option to play public, habitual live poker tournaments otherwise, is if these are not considered a gambling-event. This might only be given if there is no Buy-in but rather an "entry fee" which has to be a insignificant stake and the prices can only be non-cash and cannot be funded by the entry fees.
But obviously I may be wrong here and he won that car at some official casino-event or some place else etc.
there was one event in ash (CZ) where a VW Golf was 1st price. there were local qualifier tournaments in germany, and I think none of the regulars won, so might be this guy
Great Story. Good for Poker. Good for German Poker Community. Was really a fun stream.
Good points made here about gaming and their profit models and how it relates to spending money to buy into a poker game.
It does feel like something is coming for the poker world. I don't know if it will be like 2003, but things are looking up in poker in my opinion.
What a story!
Great vid
papi dressed like vince mcmahon at a baseball game
hahaha
Joey, Knossi was comentating some old EPTs in german already
Well said Joey... we need a new generation of fish
Knossi also said he is gonna do a monthly Pokerstream with Knüppel in the future :)
You said he nearly had a heart attack? You're sure he really didn't? Haha that shit is hilarious...
Monty a fucking legend man, love that guy
Good skills Joe 👍
Thanks 👍
Lots of PLO 5/5 and 5/10 action in Wiesbaden, Germany. The Casio, Spielbank, is the most beautiful and classy one you’ve ever seen. No mask at the table once you sit down. The rake is ridiculously low too. If you come to Germany, I would love to show you around!
I watched this thing completely and it was so entertaining I genuinely believe there is another poker upswing incoming. By the way, Knossi (rather pronounced "Ke-Nossi" in German) mostly became popular on twitch playing slots recently with his insane emotional reactions and a recent German fishing camp with German rappers. Knüppel (Rather pronounced: Ke-Nüppel) was actually really his first streamer four years ago according to Knossi who was wholeheartedly promoted by him. It's just overall such a wholesome story.
Great video Joe, love Knossi, his passion and emotion are so entertraining. Sadly he isn't the best english-speaker, so not sure if he is going to agree to an interview.
PS: I would love to be your hype man ;)
is he wearing a burger king hat ahhaha hes awesome
Hi Joey, love your content, mainly because you're thoughtful and reflexive. I'm an ethicist and a poker enthousiast. I play 100NL zoom on stars and 2-4NL live and spend 10-20 hours a week playing or studying poker, but my day job is being the bioethicist for the Belgian Institute for Public Health. I hope you are serious about asking people about their thoughts, because I think the analogy between in-app purchase and pay to win games and poker is a dangerous one. I've been thinking about writing a paper on this, because I share some of your convictions (poker can be fun even when you lose a little money, just like lootboxes and lootboxes are 'gambling', much more so than poker is). I am also very interested to see what the in-app purchase gamer generation is going to think about poker and its structure (and whether poker games might change even more because of this -- cf. some of stars' recent efforts towards gamification). Anyways, I think I have some pretty strong arguments against your point of view (proportionality, environment, pay-to-win vs rake environments, buying in vs matching up, ...). If you ever feel like talking to someone with an appreciation for your work, a passion for poker and a PhD in ethics, I would be very happy to explore these issues further.
Hi Joey, do you think the online landspace will transform again when the pandemic is over? It seems to be in a bit of a growth bubble at the moment. Particularly GG poker is growing with well known live game vloggers and streamers being ambassadors for them.
HYPE MAN HERE! LETS GO!!!!
Knossi = Passion
I don't know Joe, but the rake on Stars and stuff not going back to grinders, I think may be wrong. Chest are turning out somewhat good and pure cash prizes for redemption points are also kind of good. $500 rake back for good volume in 1 week Zoom PLO 50 2tbls 4h a day..
Knossi not only presented from the rails since 2011 or sth. but has also been the german EPT commentator since 2013. He knows the poker scene and players more than anyone else. So he's not only some streamer trying poker. Poker was wayyyy before his twitch.
I'm a DJ and nothing is better than having a Hypeman with you!
Joey.. I WANT THAT HAT!!
Or one like it.
The first thing Knüppel said after winning 117k was "now i have to talk to my tax consultant". funny guy
got there after delivering about 10 suckouts
Poker is on an upswing and I am coming for every single last one of you :D
KNOSSI!!!
great video. i love u papi❤️
german pronounciation:
k is hard in knossi. so pornounced like „cnossy“. knüppel is hard to pronounce bc the ü is a german diphthong, existing of u and e. k hard again. greetings from germany❤️
btw: knossi normally streams online gambling sites where he plays virtual gambling machines. which is kinda worrying i think.
Papi your the best.!! So cool you picked up this story..
But you need to watch Alge Alge Alge to understand the KNOSSIHYPE.
The American version of the hype guy is an overweight guy in sweat pants and a wife beater yelling Let's Fuckin Go for 3 hours on loop.
haha Knossi sounds like Nossa when you say it :)
I think there would be very similar psychological triggers, especially in young people, between addiction to gambling and gaming. The main difference is the speed in which a gambling problem can escalate. With the online betting options people have, it's not difficult for someone to empty their entire bank account in one day. That could be any amount of money too, from $100 to millions. This action isn't possible as a gamer buying in-game purchases. Well obviously it is if you only have $100 to your name, but other than that there are natural limits. This is an important difference, because if an addict is having a particularly bad day and loses control, the gambler can be ruined but the gamer will make it to the next day and hopefully improve.
Joey, please have someone proof read your titles for punctuation mistakes. German's? German is? Belonging to German? Or did you mean Germans (plural)?
Great story, great video!
Knossi grew like no other streamer in Germany by streaming a lot of Casino content (he also streamed other content).
CS:GO Skin gambling was huge in Germany. The young generation loves Twitch and Esports.
Germany has some great personalities and the community seems to love watching them play poker on stream.
Not sure how much they actually care about the game but they for sure love watching it.
I'd be surprised if Stars or another company wouldn't invest a large amount of money to get a few of the most popular streamers in Germany to play a live event together.
Knossi recently hosted a "fishing/camping" event with a few of the biggest streamers and celebrities and they peaked over 200k viewers while streaming for 3 days 24/7.
I'm sure both formats could be combined to break viewership records (for a lot of money, that's a lot of exposure).
So insane to think about - thanks for the insight/information.
316k viewers was peak (:
KNOSSSSI
how the fuck you take a 52s videos and make a awesome 14min video. U are insane papi!
Have to explain the backstory and also what it might mean for poker
Fucking amazing man.
@7:40
Same goes for ä and ö btw.
You pronounce it Knossi not Nossi
iTunes
neiiiiiiin
You're confusing "excessive spending" and "excessive gambling"
It's pronounced Knueerrrppel (without a silent K)
HMMMM OKAY - I think I got it lol
Like your content bud!
10k views only.... 500 👍... pitiful.. come one hit that like for my man!
More knueppel
Maybe the Small Car was a Clown Car.
In my personal opinion it is not a companies responsibility to make sure a customer is spending within their means. Weather that be poker, gaming, or really anything else. It’s lack of sense of responsibility on the consumer on all aspects. You can expect anyone to babysit every single customer they have and asking that person multiple personal questions about their financial status is a far to personal, strenuous, and I’m sure a invasion of privacy. You really can’t blame a company of any kind in any business for consumers lack of financial responsibility. This is also coming from a 24 year old who’s been broke af more times than I can remember from playing higher than I should’ve been. I had no one to blame but myself for being in that situation and I knew that and still believe. Some people simply cannot stand prosperity.
#DegenLife
Don't be scared of the fire bro we need that shit in poker!!!!
Losing too much at poker and spending too much money are very related problems, good point!
Joey make it happen for the community boss!! Get the loser of the EPIC heads up match coming up to match n donate his loses to the poker community like brad Owens charity where he donates it to the poker dealers laid off from covid 19 etc???
Ich glaub es nicht das knossi es bis hierher schafft
Ü is spelled like UE...greetings from Germany....keep em coming.
Gey Joey, you have to learn German and stream with that hard german Language 😂 everyone is screaming over here that's probably a German habit
As someone that just started learning German, it does sound awesome screamed at maximum volume.
I am german and I watch Knossis streams regulary.
1. Good job with the video, sir. 👍
2. Pronunciation: The 'K' in Knossi and Knüppel/Knueppel is NOT silent like in 'knock-out' oder 'knife'.
3. Knüppel said that he usually only plays tournaments where you cannnot win money but material prizes (which probably is mainly because of german legislation.)
4. Knüppel said on stream that with the money he won he plans to restore his thirty-year-old Mercedes Benz 190. He also recently had a water damage, so the money helps on that front aswell.
5. Knossi wears the crown because he calls himself 'King of the internet' (which is at least for the german speaking area pretty adequate by now and for us fans anyway.). The crown is his most recognized trademark.
6. I play poker and follow the poker world and poker shows since 2005 and this stream was one of the most fun and exciting poker events I've ever watched. Knüppel is exactly that type of average Joe you want to win it all and Knossi has the unique talent to make any sort of program exceptionally entertaining. He usually streams slots a lot which I find pretty boring and pointless generally but Knossi knows how to make a show out of it. It really is about the person in his case. He is very close to his community through the different plattforms, he has a lot of energy (as you can tell), he is always positive and really knows how to put a smile upon your face even when you had a rough day. I am pretty sure that he will have a lot more success in his career which has been growing pretty fast in the last couple of years, but only IF he takes care of his voice. He has had health issues in this regard already. One of his slogans/running gags is 'ruhiger stream heute' which means 'calm stream tonight' in order to protect his voice - a goal he always sets but never achieves. :D
I hope this helped a little. Keep up the good work, Joe!
so we not going to question why so many streamers and vloggers have been cashing big collects in big tournaments.
... If you play everyday and stream everyday, someday you have a big win. Knossi makes livestream over 4 years and never got a win that big
ka*nur*pool
I heard some dude had 300k live viewers for a animation of a gas station yesterday... I also heard theres live view bots in the 10ks. Streaming is so boring imo.
Has a real bitter aftertaste that 2 guys promoting Pokerstars in front of 90k viewers and suddenly hitting 4.5% over 4.5%. The whole run was just incredibly odd ...
That's what I thought as well. That they even both made it itm was already a chance of below 5% from the start
How about an investigation, Joey? Do they rig it for their streamers?
@@christianschneider1499 Yea seen the whole Stream basically while grinding myself. Knossi survived like 2h with 3 bb or less then shoved on AA and AK and flopped quads. His friend was even more insane, limping AA, while BB flopped trips and all of the sudden an ace comes on the river und saves him. They busted early in the 5k and 500$ and then Pokerstars comes around the corner and asked if they wanna get both free tickets to the 1k. From there I dont know but I guess hitting the lottery would have had better odds that night.
It was rigged
Why is such a great story? They didn't even buy in the tourney with their own money... Big fucking deal. I made scores like this back when you were able to print money in poker multiple times doing it on my own..Not by given free fucking tickets
Knossi promotes Slots. Evil...
he doesnt promote them, he just plays them
well 30 bb repush with A2s is kinda 2 wide. only getting called by better hands, pairs and better Ax. Dont think that the reg would calll of light vs a recreational.
little recommendation for all non-german viewers, it is really worth to go to Knossi's channel and watch the stream highlight. At the final table bubble he made some sick suck-outs while Knossi going completely insane, even if you don't understand the language these were some of the funniest moments in poker history :D
joey is unbluffable
wtf
Not really a great pronunciation of "Knossi"
How do you say it??
@@joeingram1 I've heard BenCB say it with a hard K "kh-nossi" "kh-noopel"
@@joeingram1 By pronouncing the letter "K" aswell.
1. google translate 2. type in 'knüppel' (it will auto detect as german) 3. press play - takes about 6 seconds. i'm not sure why u did skip this step :D
You should smoke after recording the video, I think your ability to think clearly, and more importantly - convey your thoughts clearly, is a bit hindered when baked. Good content either way though.
btw I'm baked
Omg Joey sign me up as your hype man. I’ll do it for free and it’ll be the most raw energy you’ve seen. Joey I have the PASSION!
...and people say us Germans are robots.
watch all the highlights here ua-cam.com/video/K0nmNvpRfA0/v-deo.html
Knüppel and Knossi both dont speak english, i believe.
Why did you block me on Twitter Joey?? Didn't do anything wrong man.
And I love your content and I am a big fan
Are you pronouncing KNOSSI as NAZI ? xD
ay ay ay .....
Your german is funny heheheheheheheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Love the energy of the content Joey!
