It was a waste of time truly, the president's inflection and articulation is more like a nursery school pupil learning to read, besides, the content of the speech is nothing but usual lies and empty expectations. It's only the "Special Tribe" in Nigeria that would put forward such a figure to run for office in 21st century.

In essence, Barrister Dele is saying thst, if we break up Nigeria into different nations, in each of the new nations, a super class citizens will still emerge thst will make the rest to be second class citizens. In short, he is envisaging an idealistic country where everyone is a first class citizen. The truth is that Barrister Dele had reached theoretical saturation and he had come to terms with the fact thst oppressors in Nigeria have no specific tribe, they are found among the Ibo, Yoruba, and Hausa. I would say, the dream of having a country or a Nigeria where everyone is a first class citizen is a mirage....even in the developed countries, citizens have levels. But in our case and given the damage thst the ruling class had done, a Yoruba or an Ibo man has come to a conclusion thst it is better to play a second fiddle or the role of a second class citizen to a fellow Yoruba or Ibo man in the Oduduwa or Biafra republic. This has become a preferred option as compared to playing the role of a second class citizen to a Hausa or Fulani man. The rulers of Nigeria had done this damage and they have no shame whatsoever

Asking for restructuring is taking away the Fulani Superiority Power (born to rule) and Economy and Political Power (Abuja) which will never happen.
Secession is the only way but it will not happen until the ethnic cleansing coming from the north has gained full ground in the south. By that time am sure Dele will be the one leading the secession.
God bless Oduduwa Nation and Biafra. 💪🏿💪🏿

A very intelligent and thought provoking interview. Everywhere you look, it is obvious that our current system is not working. Killings, insecurity, avoidable accidents, collapsing infrastructure, even refineries we can not manage... etc. Nigeria needs restructuring. We need a total structural reengineering. We need to start doing everything differently...

My point of disagreement is simple, if the Hausa Fulani insist on the dysfunctional status quo or "slavery" as the speaker calls it then secession or self determination becomes the only viable option.
Self determination is so real and lawful under international law , it is not a distraction, we fought a war in the past based on secession, it is real.

@@hashimnasir1680 I Beg to disagree. The unitary system is an enhancer of corruption and a suppressor of accountability . It is not easy for one to steal from his or her family on a serial basis without being caught or questioned. Abuja is no man's land and the average Nigerian has never even met their member of house or Senator what more of demanding accountability. I strongly believe that corruption will reduce in a devolved system or regional government. It is not so complicated , the system in Europe is designed to make corruption difficult through internal controls , we can copy a bit of that too . When we get to that bridge , we shall cross it. The present system is a complete mess totally unfit for purpose.

Correct!!!!... the idea of ending restructuring issue with.. " there should be no secession " this is what i see as reason why nothing will be achieved because they know, nothing will happen. 🤔

Barrister Dele Farotimi, clear and unambiguous understanding of the Nigerian nation and make up is well appreciated.
1.The benefactors of slavery can never negotiate freedom.
    2. Break up is absolute distraction.
    3. Enough effort must be geared towards enlightened engagement of stakeholders to pursue Restructuring.
    4. Failure to embrace peaceful restructuring will lead to catastrophic implosion. And there are obvious preparation by a particular ethnic group to catch in.
These are clear indicators of impending danger but the body language of the sitting government is outright denial, yet covertly preparing encroachment for colonialism. We must wake up down South.
Thank you so much Dr Reuben Abati and the crew, I salute you all.

Right after the so called "countercoup" in 1966, which was in reality a mutiny and genocide against the igbo people, people had already demanded a return to true federal system with a weak center and strong regional governments. In fact, I think Ojukwu made the exact demand during the "peace meeting" in Ghana.
