Is the USB on the rear/side of the unit functional? Hoping it has the ability to connect a 128G or so USB key to the side for additional local storage.
Tom, thanks for great video..I don't want to set up frame in "PRIVATE MODE" , it will be easier for recipient to just receive any family photos....is that possible?

Hi Tom! I've been looking a lot lately at digital picture frames (the ones with email-to-frame capability), and it looks like the 3 best frames on the 2020 market are the Skylight, the Dragon Touch, and the NixPlay. I know you regularly review tech gadgets and I was wondering if you know how the three frames compare against each other?
I don't know about the Dragon Touch, and the NixPlay, but from my experience with Skylight, I have no complaints. I have truly bought 3 total units, Skylight never paid me or sponsored this video... my honest consensus is that the product is quality.
I never spent enough time on the app integration with this review, but it is super easy to use and makes sending and managing bulk photos so easy.
I wish I could give you more insight into Dragon Touch, and the NixPla, but unfortunately I can't... I hope my opinion helps you either way. Stay safe, and happy holidays!
I actually watched this video because I just saw this mentioned in the "questions and answers" section of the product description for the 10.1 inch nixplay frame on amazon:
"BEWARE! In order to email a photo to the frame, a person must sign up for a Nixplay account. You don't have to use the app, but you do have to set up a personal Nixplay account to be able to email a photo to the frame. What that means is that my extended family (over 100 people) will all have to become registered users of the Nixplay system in order to send photos to my 100 year old grandmother. I wasn't able to find this out until after I bought one and attempted to set it up. I'm returning it in favor of the Skylight frame, which does allow emails from non-account holders."
I don't have either of these frames but this comment stood out to me and it is making me consider the skylight over the nixplay. I'm still not sure what to go with.
@@agoogleuser5504 that’s simply not true, you can email the frame from any email account without a registration.
And personally, the emailing of photos is more of a hassle than just using the app. There you can manage photos and bulk send to multiple frames.
It’s idiotproof.
@@TomDeCicco That amazon customer comment about requiring registration to send photos was specifically about the Nixplay photo frame (not Skylight) Just double checking - you are saying the Nixplay also doesn't require registration?
I'm still indecisive about these. The Skylight has a perfect 5 star rating on Amazon but I actually would want one that has the motion sensing auto on/off or at least a way to set it to turn on and off at specific times.

The skylight doesn’t require any sort of account creation (other than the custom recipient email)
I believe they have (since the recording of this video) made the app free. You can not send videos for free though.
It’s nice to be able to orient, and resize photos on the frame.

Is there a slide show setting? Or does it display just one picture until you pick a new one?
Its default is a slideshow. I'm not sure if you can actually keep just one photo on the frame without it shuffling to the next. Hope that helps.

Are there any digital photo frames without a power cord? I want to hang it on the wall. I don't want the cord to be seen or hanging down. I searched all over. Can't figure out which brand or if any don't have to be plugged in / can be charged. It's driving me crazy. I even bought one but returned it. I don't want the cord hanging from or visible on the wall :(
None that I know of, tbh.... that would kinda be a pain to constantly charge a frame though.... 🤷♂️
I have been unable to find an answer for my question anywhere! My kickstand broke within months and I can find no place to purchase a replacement. Apparently many folks have this issue. Any great ideas? Thanks so much
if you can get it out, it's likely interchangeable with a giant screw b/c or it being threaded... i'd try to bring it to a hardware store. :)

Once again - this video as with the other two I have viewed regarding this product does not address any amount of troubleshooting. The SKYLIGHT I received as a gift is useless as it won't even go online. I have no problems with any other desktop, laptop, iPad, phone or any product I own that accesses internet. At the very least, SKYLIGHT should provide a video
that troubleshoots possible problems with their product. I have contacted SKYLIGHT and the email they sent me with supposed solutions are of no use. The do not resolve the matter, and likely I will need to return this product. Such a disappointment.
What occurs when you type in your wifi password?
Having the same problem,will not connect, always times out
There customer service is no help what so ever
received as a bday present but it’s most likely going to be returned
Any advice ?
