Couldn't agree more y could even go to east end where theres even Brough Park (kidding) but areas which can be used near Tyne and can be purchased relatively cheaply old industrial brown sites
You're right we bring in about 38mill. If we maximised the stadium we might have gained 8k seats with the gallowgate expansion, that's only about 4mill a season more. That's the limit with SJP, people would rather remain there if we had 10k seats and i understand that. My opinion is we have this golden opportunity to get something the fans of future generations deserve.
Relocating just means they can proceed with the original plan to have a super site with a huge main ground, new training facilities and academy, secondary stadium for the lasses and youth teams and hotels.
I remember when they dismantled the old town hall in the big market they kept all the stonework. To rebuild it somewhere else it may have been a listed building. “ not sure” but my point is leazes park is only a park money talks build it there if the council wants to upgrade the toon that will certainly help
I have loved St James park. But to compete it's time to move to a new stadium. They have said at the meeting in the stack. This would double our turnover. We have to get round PSR and this would be a major step forward. Time to move on and progress. New Stadium
We are at a crossroads here. If we choose to remain at SJP we will never become one of the biggest clubs in the world. If we want to be a truly elite club then there is only one choice. Move.
Lol we could still get relegated this season. We've got an awful manager and are going nowhere at the moment. Just expand the Gallowgate and build a new East Stand
@HarryHardon9 can't build a new east stand because of planning restrictions. We are not going to be relegated. Engage your brain before posting nonsense.
We will never get to where we want to be if we keep putting the clubs history as our main argument not to have a new stadium. There is an unbelievable offer from the new owners to build a state of the art stadium and training facilities which will boost our financial profile raising the clubs revenue. Our club’s history will not change if we move to a new stadium it’s already in the books so let’s get behind the owners on this because we are not just talking about a few million pounds to be invested they are willing to invest hundreds and hundreds of millions. Let’s start thinking big
Need to know what the plan is for the existing site and how moving would affect the city as a whole if a new stadium is built elsewhere. I don't think winning a cup every few years and occasionally qualifying for the champions league would be worth the city centre turning into a ghost town with loads more boarded up vandalised buildings like we see in some other parts of the UK.
It’s a shame moving but we have to. SJP is just a closed shop now. Unable to get tickets at all and it’s tens of thousands of us. Dead man’s shoes to get a season ticket. It can’t continue like this. Locking out a generation of fans can’t be the way forward. New 75-80k capacity stadium with expansion options in Leazes park overlapping the current SJP footprint would be the best solution for everyone
The Exhibition park would be a suitable location to build the stadium. it would take up only a small portion of the town moor and I'm sure the freemen of the city would not object to the idea. in my opinion this would be the ideal location and it's near to the city centre.
Careful what you wish for. If it’s in the city centre, people would say yes…. basically at Leazes however outside that… I want to stay at St James Park.
Leases park would be as about as far as I would like to see them move too. It's the perfect location, but I understand there will be difficulties! It really needs to stay in the heart of the town! It I the heart that beats so loud!
It all depends upon the level of growth the fans want to see happening at the club . . . Sadly, SJP, even if upgraded far more is still going to struggle to cope with waiting fan numbers - and that's not including those who might just come from anywhere local, not local, or overseas, who would really want to catch a game but who can never get in to see one anyway . . . As always though, the owners now are the ones who have the money to spend, if they want to, and so they'll be looking for more income to invest coming back from it . . . True, a new 80k stadium would allow more to come - including even away fans, too . . . But if a new stadium is in the offing, then why would they hold back from building an 80-100k stadium if the land is available to buy, as if its bigger, then more people would also get in for various concerts, international footbal or rugby, etc, so added income . . . Stick an additional 8/10 race track around the pitch, and then you can even offer optional athletics events when no footy is on for a week or more . . . Again, the options available are really down to the owners most of all who want to see a larger income coming in to be available to spend at the club - so in the long run, it will all come down to what they want to do anyway . . .
Don't want a race track, look at west ham the atmosphere is terrible it too far away from the fans,we still need a ground that is on top of the players to generate that atmosphere,
New Stadium please and Im so thankful we have this chance..anyone going against a new stadium of 80 k plus needs to have a good rethink. Moving out of the city to say Gosforth Park is a great Idea ..after all it will only be boozers that sell beer missing out..forget the pubs as you will be giving your club the dosh for a pint or two and the club then benefits. The club could even put a moving pavement in the city so you just step on it on a match day to the nearby Gosforth Park..or a quick shuttle service ..We could even get a Hover rail link in the sky ! the possibilities are endless open your minds up and anything is possible !. New Ground Please. and a massive thank you to The people of Saudi Arabia. Bless you all.
We'll just have to watch the developments unfold. Everything we could discuss is just speculation. Until formal announcements are made, we carry on as usual. No sense worrying about what "might" happen.
Look chum the truth is Newcastle will extend the Gallowgate stand & change all the other seats & have a capacity of 60,085 & that's that as the East Stand can't be extended no matter what....No new Stadium will be built.
Leazes Park for stadium and then a linked bridge to a new luxury hotel where the current club is. We need 3-5k rich tourism fans every match willing to spend 5k a match = thats 25million a match or £1billion over a season. Then we can have 20,000 cheap seats for teenagers and 20 year olds to watch - most clubs are full of 50year olds but ee need to attract the next generation.
Need to build New stadium if we want to compete with the big boys Newcastle have a waiting list of 40 thousand fans waiting for tickets got to build a new one
Its a complete no brainer...... People need to stop talking nonsense and get a grip. Move on big shining new stadium, or carry on being the only if team we have been for more years than i can remember....

I would love to stay at sjp but I'm open for a new stadium in the city, the unique thing about sjp is everything is close for the match day experience, away fans love the ground because it's in the city all the bars the food outlets the infrastructure,I don't want us to be stuck in the middle of nowhere
We need a new stadium, if we want to really compete and there is no way to upgrade and totally change SJP during a season, we don't have Wembley to loan like Spurs had. Stadium of Shite for a year anyone?
Time to move to a new stadium as a up grade won't bring enough revenue. If you want to grow need a new stadium .go big or go broke.as 52 000.is no where near enough
Dream on. The Saudis are reducing spending outside of Saudi. There is no business case for a new stadium. They just want a seat at the premiership table - as long as NUFC stay up they don't care. A billion so 10k more can see their team? Not a chance.
It's happening, a huge new stadium , and the Saudis won't to the club winning leagues and champions leagues as do the Ruben brothers, success is a very important aspect to the vision they have, and prestige is another, very proud people that will only be happy with greatness.
@marmedli9124 we shall see. The Saudis care about the Saudi league. They want it in uefa so they can get in the Champions league and attract the best players. They could not care less about NUFC. If they have a voice in the FA it may help them get into eufa - like Turkey. At £350 million NUFC was a snip. A billion for a new stadium is something else when SJP is perfectly adequate.
They will move out of the city and therefor destroy a long held tradition, and that my friends will end a hell of a lot of fans applying for THEIR season tickets canceling the advantage in larger capacity. No matter how many decide to watch the Toon on TV instead of "Traveling" they will be among the back bone of the Toon supporters, and lost forever never to pass the thrill of the walk to the ground among the shops bars and life with the kids. Tradition something lost on Southerners and Arabs alike so sad.
Not happy if it moves away from its current location. Yes, a new stadium will bring in more income but not necessarily the amount of extra seats available to Joe Bloggs that non-ST holders think it will. A lot will be corporate. The impact on local business if it moves well away from SJP is a big concern. We won’t get away with having away fans up in L7 & that will impact atmosphere & seat locations for existing ST holders.
Here’s an idea down size st James park and let the lass’s have it. They can keep St James going and at the same time the men’s team have a new stadium somewhere
Maybe an unpopular view. A brand new stadium (80k ?) is fine. But from every club I can join (as a prospect player) do I want to live in the Newcastle area? In other words: will a top player (the Henry's, Bergkamp's of the future) want to come and join NUFC in the future?
Northumberland and County Durham have some of the finest countryside and coastlines in the world. Stunning beauty and views. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the area. The idea that it’s grim up north is held only by a minority of southerners who’ve never ventured north of Watford.
I "wud B 1,000,000,000,000%" 4 de NEW stadium. / 90,100thousand seater, gener8 revenue by way of a limited number of events, concerts, (& why not)american football, etc etc. BUT - 'if at all poss' not 2 far from Ur city. Saudia - ST JAMES PARK. ~just hum8ble opinion. // [💚💚🤍🤍🧡🧡]
