A 3 was rolled. A 9 was rolled. A 4 was rolled. And another 4 was rolled. There was at least 9 wheat for grabs. While mono for wheat wouldn’t have won Mike the game, that was just bad board reading.
I appreciate these videos a lot. My only complaint is all the number confusion during the placement. It’s hard to follow when you’re talking about the 3-6-11 and you keep saying 3-6-9. 😅 Thank you for the good work though.
Why is there a giant bar at the bottom of the screen to block vamos cards? I cant see the trade screen super annoying Edit: wow that was reds game to win, misplayed that mono super hard. Also players had so many opportunities to cut nyjah off along the coast and absolutely should have.
@Aaron The idea is to block as much info for the viewers to keep the surprise on who wins as long as possible. And... yup. @Justin Agreed, placing a dead settlement that early in the game hurts your production a lot!
One thought about red's initial placements (I have not finished the video, writing this at 12:07) By taking the 3/4/11 red guarantees the same numbers as the wheat spots. Wheat is on a 4, 11, and 3 so no matter which wheat spot is producing red will be taking up resources whenever wheat is rolled
Hey Samuel! I'm glad you like it. High elo is no requirement, you will be able to find upcoming tournaments here: kingofcatan.net/catan-tournaments/ There are currently no tournaments scheduled (outside of King of Catan, which is every day you want).
I think with the missed mono we miss an important lesson: By the end of the game you need to be self sustaining, meaning you need to have a port of some sorts so you are not trading all 4 for 1 because no one trades at the end of the game in high level games. I think Mike should have gone to the sheep port over going to the 9 ore, this would have allowed him to trade his sheep 2 for 1 and every time a 6 is rolled (surprisingly not that much but) he would get 2 cards of his choice. No one was competing for the 9 5 ore brick sport so he had all day to get that, but the sheep port he had to get mid-game because it was going to get taken at some point. I think that was Mike's crucial mistake that got overlooked in this game. Overall a great game and a great upload.
May I ask your opinion at 07:50 on taking 5W-8B (with 3:1 port) and then 6S-5B-11W as red? You would had nice numbers, somehow wheat, a port aaand a road every time a 5 is rolled...what am I missing/undervaluing?
It's a strong set-up, no doubt about that. The thing I'm looking at is also making it more tough for your opponents. By leaving the 6/9/3, you make Grey a really strong player. With that said, I don't like Red's set-up too much either and I also think it's impossible for Red not have a good set-up. If you take the 8/5 as fourth position, you give 2nd and 1st position many more great spots to choose from. Does that answer your question?
@@Treeckosaurus yes sir! Thank you a lot, I am not that good at this game (yet :P) when Im 4th in positioning I usually focus only on my stuff without caring about other players, I learned a lesson!

Imagine pulling a monopoly on your first dev card, having the immaculate patience to hold it in your hand for 55 straight minutes..
..all just to steal one wood.

Certainly agreed, maybe the pressure was too big? Who can tell
Him not having any Port also hurt him so bad

Gotcha, I will edit in some more animations in next time. Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

I did not like Gum’s initial play to build to the 2 wood for the brick port.. That blunder cost him the game.

Agreed!
That mono play was brutal, man... Naijah played one helluva game. Amazing player.
Agreed!
Nice video mate, the end of the game was crazy! I would like to participate in your next tournament, I'm just 1200 elo. How does it works?

Thanks! Agreed. It's the main reason why coastal settlements are considered as better than centered settlement spots.
Great work Treek!
Thanks Alex! :)

I'm glad it was helpful. Fourth position is (imo) the most difficult to play from.
Is it better after last update to play catan universe instead of colonist.io?
Depends what you value, but the colonist.io servers are more stable
Top banner blocking view is super annoying!!!!!
and cutting of the dice?? c'mon man
Hey, thanks for the feedback. It's not my decision, unfortunately. You'll see with my other videos that I don't block information.

mono one wood LMAO
