Just watched this for the first time and my heart. 😭 I’m crying. Jess and Rory truly never loved anybody else as much as they loved each other. And they never looked at or smiled with anybody else the way they do with each other.
I miss them 😭 Jess was never used to anyone caring for him. He would just disappear and nobody cared. Until Rory. When he left, she came to him because he "didn't say goodbye". She cared. Of course he was gonna love her for the rest of his life ♥ But he couldn't just jump into the unknown and expose himself, he had to push her until she surrendered and kissed him, because he was probably terrified to be treated like trash again. He needed it to come from her. God, I love this character so much. Thank you for vidding them!
It's also sad that she chose Dean and Logan over him! Those 2 never pushed her to be better they saw her how she could improve them but Jess only wanted the best for her and not once did demand something from after his visit at Yale. I just think that she never got over the heartbreak he caused her.
@@equinoxXIII I definitely agree to that! I don't think she got over the heartbreak either. She somehow chose Dean and Logan. Her goals, her background, what she's expected to be… guided her choices. She didn't choose Jess. He just appeared and turned her world upside down, being everywhere she didn't expect him to be to keep pushing her foward. I imagine Rory as being terrified to go dig into those feelings again because she knows they will be overwhelming. Just like the first time. It was fast and intense and he did hurt her because he wasn't ready and thought he wasn't good enough :( So after that she needed security. Or some kind of control. That's why she kept pushing him away. I am absolutely certain the writers planned for Jess to be the one. They never closed the door between them and to this day, it's still wide open. In my head, they do find their way back to each other ♥
@@westerlypelicandreams Rory really started to go downhill when Jess left her. He needed her in the beginning because she showed that he was wanted by someone if you see his family situation. Jess leaving was needed for him to grow away from a town that really hated him and Lorelai never approving him. Now we see it became clear that he doesn't need her anymore but now she needs him to keep helping her if you see how much he influenced her 2 big decisions in life when she was at her lowest both times. I agree with your take that she's too scared to confront her feelings for Jess again and why she would rather be the other woman both times. That was her biggest heartbreak because in her eyes he's perfect especially how he turned out. I also think she's somewhat ashamed with how she turned out compared to the high school dropout who's flourishing in life. Jess has her on this pedestal that she can't be on anymore after all she's done with Dean and Logan. I closed the door to them because I want the best for Jess so that he meets someone in Philadelphia and build a family with her so Rory can see that he's the one that got away while she's raising her and Logan's kid and Lorelai finally realizes how good Jess is and was always the best for Rory. That affair with Logan changed my outlook on their relationship and Rory.
@@equinoxXIII I totally agree with your comment. I also see what you mean when hoping for Jess to build a life of his own. I am myself torn about that question, there are definitely moments when I think Rory doesn't deserve him anymore. But I have trouble imagining Jess being happy and fulfilled without Rory by his side. I wish we could have seen Rory getting older, raising her kid and growing mature, and finally coming at peace with the idea that all she ever needed was to assume her love for Jess, despite what was expected of her. And ultimately realize that he is what she needs. That would take decades in my head though and I doubt we'll ever get another revival :(
I genuinely believe that they end up together, bias aside. I think that it will be a parallel of Chris, lorelai and Luke, (Year in the Life SPOILER) I think that the baby will be Logan’s, like how Rory was Chris’s, but Jess will become a father figure to the baby, like Luke was to Rory. (Also, I know that since Lorelai and Luke end up together and Luke and Jess are related it might be kinda weird but then again there was a wedding the first season where two twins married another set of twins so it’s not horrible)
I definitely subscribed! Loved how you matched some of these lyrics like "there are so many lines that I've crossed" and "I'll never [tell you] goodbye" and even "New York" lol. And so many other little things were so well done. "I could never look away" was another notable one ;) Loved the undervidded sweet moments and especially voiceovers. I love this song so much and I never would've thought of it for them, and I don't feel like every single aspect of what this song is about is in a bigger picture sense (that 20 year dark night first and then this romantic interest being the daylight) -- I don't see it really fitting them that well but I still love that you made this sweet song work pretty well for them.
The moments lighting. These two. I want to believe in AU these two ended up back together. They fit. But i get why it didn't happen onscreen. The actors playing the characters weren't comfortable back then in the revival.
The way they looked at each other says it all,Rory never has that look for the others
