China's Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng defeat Malaysia's K.K. Koo and B.H. Tan in the badminton men's doubles semifinal at the Wembley Arena as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games (4 August).
Badminton made its debut as a demonstration sport at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. It was not until the 1992 Games in Barcelona that it was officially included on the Olympic programme, with men's and women's singles and doubles events. The mixed doubles event made its debut in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympic Games. Since then, the number of events has remained unchanged.

@@ZhuGeLiang6969 Zhang Nan's smashes are quick but, in general, less effective compared to Cai Yun's. They always felt too flat and long and thus easier to cope with, while CY's half-way smashes often won a point directly.
