It spawns in different areas, no rule, however there are two new smaller islands, and often it's there or in some areas of the world that's uncovered on the map. Luckily, you can spot purple hue from a large distance away. Though you will have to look around for it.

I tried in both Survival and Sandbox mode, no difference in the boss i.e. equally hard.

You should of used power attacks as they do more damage than regular attacks. I've got this to look forward to in expert lol wish me luck 😅

It act like a boomerang, you can use it normally or throw it at the thing you want to destroy. It deal 300+ damage to structures
