Great video, 1/4 wave and magnetic loops are amazing. I would caution anyone however of holding a loop. The person would be in the RF field of a loop, greatly exceeding exposure guidlines. In addition RF burns are likely if one touches the loop during transmit, and is also high current and voltages even at 5 Watts. Voltage is going to be over 1000V and high current as well.

    Thanks Peter,
I love mag loops! Never tried the gamma match because I thought them to be somewhat frequency dependent. My Faradays are triangler to best couple. It's max current there too, so use them on Tx/Rx side ;)
Here is a simple tip you might like. To ensure best output on frequency. An led to several turns of insulated wire against the loop. The brighter, the better the radiation. It just works! If you like, film it. ;)
Also, direction. 90 DEG from null. Easy peasy QRM/N or IQ0 killer.

Great video. Very imformative. You show how to make it and how it works.

A very informative video. I have been looking for an antenna like this, since I live in a HOA which restricts antennas on roofs. Thanks 73's KK6FYE

Great video! My first contact on an FT817 on my 20 meter loop inside the radio room with Jack KB9EYN looking on, was 1540 miles to the East coast of the US with 3 watts SSB.
I have a nice small copper loop but I'll try the aluminum flat one like yours this summer, cool build. So I don't have to re-invent the wheel can I get you to e-mail me the plans or diagram. Good on QRZ OM TNX.

Hello Peter, I really like the construction of the aluminium loop, an some great results, we have got to try a contact with it on 20M pedestrian to pedestrian mobile Peter, I am sure if we are both in good locations and the propagation is good we can make it.

How do these magnetic loops compare signal wise to a vertical or a dipole like the buddipole?

Got mine built but not performing as well as yours. Think I need to connect the cap better electricaly to the loop

good morning, wath is the reference of your variable capacitor of your first antenna (with coax cables) and wath is the frequence range of her? Thanks a lot, 73. PR7RC.

Hi Peter, I can buy the flat aluminium, but I am not sure how to bend it into a figure of 8. Any suggestions please? Thanks & 73.

what is the value of the Polypropylene Capacitor?Do you have the detail of the aluminum loop?

Test antenna by placing it horizontally, not vertical
