Brian Bennett...If you take the time to listen to all his solos you'll realize that this guy is right up there with Buddy Rich, Louis Bellson, Gene Krupa, Butch Miles and all the greats. A truly great musician !
Brian Bennett is a great drummer, but please never even put him in the same sentence as Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa or Louis Bellson, those 3 guys are the masters, I am a drummer and have been for 35 years, Brian Bennett's solos dont even come close to what the above 3 greats created.
MM - Brian Bennett is BETTER than Buddy Rich. Why? Because he's far more adaptable and versatile. Rich was the BEST at what he did (big band) but could do nothing else. Brian can turn his hand to all genres of music and has done so many times - and each time with results that would make the listener believe that THAT was his natural idiom. Trust me, I know I am right - as do many others.
absolument superbe!! et j'en ai déjà entendu pas mal de versions de Little B !!! ( sans parler des autres solos comme big B etc ...)Brian arrivera toujours à me surprendre et à m'émerveiller ! BRAVO ! thank you Brian and the Shadows .
Brian Bennett is one of the all time great up there with the likes of Buddie Rich.Tony Meham was a good drummer but Brian Bennett stood out amongst all others.Cheers Brian.
+rockwizfan To advise Brian didn't replace Tony because he was better, because he wasn't, Tony was replaced because he was becoming unreliable as he had recently married. Basically Tony was sacked. At the time Tony and Brian were equally good drummers, Tony's style was very creative. However Brian became the master.
To some degree I agree. However, Brian was the ONLY drummer Hank and Bruce considered as they KNEW he was the BEST on the London session scene, etc... Tony was great, yes, but I can't imagine him playing Honourable Puff-Puff or any of the Little B variants from down the years. Brian had that little extra.
Sorry I have to disagree. Every one has an opinion. I will emphatically state that Buddy Rich remains the greatest drummer ever to draw breath. Like it or not I nominate Buddy Rich as the all time Greatest Drummer ever. Buddy would and could play more in any one of his drum solos than any other drummer in the history of drums. case closed.

Awesome as always Brian
Great drumming! Great drumming! Great drumming!
Uno de los mejores bateristas que he escuchado, realmente gran tecnica, comparable con Tony Meehan el primer baterisa que tuvieron Losa Shadows.
In answer to Ardente's question, this was filmed in 2004 at Cardiff not Stockholm!

Buddy didn't have a kettle drum so brian wins on that point . Buddy was an American. Brian is not
