That’s a rare catch!! I’ve never seen any other ferry than Tacoma, Wenatchee, Puyallup, Walla Walla, Spokane, or Kaleetan on the Bainbridge route, and even those last 3 are quite rare! A 130 car vessel with no accessible sun deck seems like a nightmare on such a crowded route.

It wasn’t a pleasant sailing to be on. The reason I took the trip is so I could get video evidence that I was there and experienced the rare vessel assignment. I also wanted bragging rights against my friends that I had the opportunity to ride two different Issaquah class boats on the Bainbridge route.
But long story short: I couldn’t sit down. Every seat was filled.

This kind of a departure is very rare, but a very nice video.

Looks like M.V. Issaquah is on the Bainbridge route again, with the M.V. Puyallup! Is there any info on why the Tacoma is at Eagle Harbor right now, or is it just routine maintenance? I know they’re modifying the propulsion on the Wenatchee, so one Jumbo Mark II down already.

Necessary repairs and maintenance on the Tacoma is all that’s been articulated thus far.
