For first time players, it's worth noting that you can skip the treasures until the banquet is over if you have trouble. Also if you accidentally talk to Kefka during the timed portion, he'll waste some of your time.
If you did not do well enough at the dinner banquet, the observation post will not be unlocked. In that case, you would miss out on the treasure chests inside the building, and that would prevent the platinum trophy.

@@Zenidal The gold hairpin you get from the wolf does NOT count toward the hidden items or treasure list, so I would choose to save Mog.
