Review of the browning x-bolt SS fluted barrel Poss the best factory rifle below £1000 on the market Info on X-bolt family and models www.browning.co...
I have one of these in 300 WSM. My son bought it for me as a birthday present. Before this I was an am a confirmed Winchester fan but after using this rifle last year to moose hunt I have now included this into my preferences. To be honest it is the best rifle I have ever hunting with. It has excellent balance and shoot ability. It is extremely durable and very attractive. The recoil pad is, no doubt, the best I have ever had. One shot kill on a bull moose last fall. I would recommend this rifle to anyone. Great work Browning
I have a 6.5 PRC X-Bolt Pro It is Browning's top X-Bolt model and at least the equal to the SAKO Carbonlite but US $900. less! Pro model features: 1.)stainless action, bolt and barrel 2.)Cerakoted Carbon Fiber stock 3.)factory lapped barrel 4.)fluted barrel, bolt and bolt handle 5.) all metal parts burnt bronze Cerakoated SCOPE: Bushnell LRTS 4.5 - 18 x 44 with mil/mil turrets and illuminated G3 reticle. Great setup for longer range hunting here in Nevada.
Nice review. I don't see many from the U.K. I figured the government had taken all your weapons away. Glad they have not! The price mentioned seems to be 30-35% higher than in the USA. I am curious how much extra did you have to pay for the moderator and if there was any special paperwork or steps you had to go through to get it. Our laws here make having a suppressor a real luxury item due to the extra taxes and paperwork required.
+Robert DeMilo they have not taken all our guns away yet, the moderator is not that hard to get in the uk, you apply for it on youre license, if you have a need for it they grant it
Evening, nice weapon indeed, a .223 civilian round equates to a 5.56 military round which will kill a man at up to 400-500 Meters, easily, and beyond, it's more than enough to cleanly despatch a deer at several hundred meters, iff aim/scope is good enough, believe me I've seen what a 5.56 is capable of, happy hunting, atb, Paul.
Neanderthal 62 I love the .223 round, its really underrated in the uk. In the uk they have laws on use of calibres for dispatching deer, muntjac and chinese water deer not less than .222, all other deer min of .240 . So .243 is the most commonly used calibre but i think .308 and 300wm is favored on the big reds
Good review and I bought one. Only downside is that there is no info on the barrel twist rate so no bullet weight range for stable flight. No answers in the instruction book or the browning site!
Love my new x bolt in .243. Much more comfortable to shoot than my rem 700. And just as accurate.
Great review by the way.
glade you like it in .243, im going to drop my .223 for .243 so i can take my ds1

He’s very proud of that stainless fluted barrel.

223 isnt a good deer round. Sure itll kill it but not instantly like some will. Guess thats an ethical question to consider

+Bill Raine on a .223 i think its a 1:12
And 1:10 in 25-06 (I’m quite sure..)
@@matthewknight1910 It is 1:10. 55gr - 60gr BT Hornady home loads give 1/2" groups at 100 metres using a DPT over barrel moderator works nicely!
What suppressor is that
+Jaden marley its a A-TEC maxim
