I’m sorry Harry but I have to disagree pretty hard. We haven’t seen this movie, why would it be unoriginal when you talk about how original the 4th was? You can argue that any movie is unnecessary. All movies in theaters are there to make money, regardless of whether it’s a sequel or original idea. If dreamworks ran out of ideas it would’ve happened in The Last Wish. Personally I’m very excited and glad they’re going back to this franchise.
As far as I’m concerned, Puss In Boots The Last Wish was the end of the Shrek franchise. Or at least the epilogue while Shrek Forever After was the finale.

Uhhh Shrek is back LOL. Shrek 5, we don't need it, it's probably come too many years after some people seem to care. Shrek Forever After seemed pretty final. I mean I'll watch it and give it a chance, but the story has no where to go. Shrek ended in 2010 with Shrek Forever After and I like the way it wrapped up. I might have been more optimistic if this new film was a reboot instead of a 5th film. Then again the first Shrek and the 2nd Shrek are so good that they are irrepeatable in my opinion. I will give it a chance but by God it has got to have bloody good writing, at least on the levels of Puss in Boots 2. Of course as you say Shrek really allowed Dreamworks to soar financially but yeah Dreamworks more original content please. I'm sure it'll have a lot of nostalgia, well at the very least if its better than the previous 2 Shrek movies I'll take it I'll guess. Here are my thought on the upcoming dreamworks animated movies from 2024-2026 The Wild Robot: this will be as great as How To Train Your Dragon and Madagascar DogMan: I’ve never read the book though I’m curious but the plot is very scary The Bad Guys 2: yes because The Bad Guys is one of dreamworks best Gabbys Dollhouse: to be fair it’s not made for me so I won’t get mad Shrek 5: I understand it’s mixed feedback but I’m excited non the less though I’m more excited for Goat, Mario 2 and TMNTMM2 than it personally
I personally would not get too excited for it, but I am mixed with it because nothing can not top the first two Shrek movies, which they are the best. I also do enjoy its TV special such as Shrek the Halls. But if Shrek 5 does tells a good story, then I will be up for it.

I feel like people view this as a finale that will make up for their distaste for Shrek Forever After similar to how you viewed Shrek Forever After as one that made up for Shrek The Third ruining the franchise. But yeah I'm with you, Shrek 5 is just a cash grab. People are only hyped for this for the nostalgia and potential Spider-Verse animation style. I heard some people say that they are not going to watch this movie if they use CG animation. It's a shame people want CG animation dead and replaced with the Spider-Verse animation style. And it also sucks how, despite Shrek being an icon for animation, Shrek Forever After is the one film in the franchise that's ignored and call that the worst Shrek film. I better not hear people acknowledge Shrek 5 as the real 4th installment in the franchise. And yeah, Frozen 3 will totally crush Shrek 5 and same goes for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as that one comes out only a week before

I will give it a chance but by God it has got to have bloody good writing, at least on the levels of Puss in Boots 2. Of course as you say Shrek really allowed Dreamworks to soar financially but yeah Dreamworks more original content please. I'm sure it'll have a lot of nostalgia, well at the very least if its better than the previous 2 Shrek movies I'll take it I'll guess. My expectations are 50/50 Shrek 5 will probably go either way, it's either going to be really good or really bad. Great video man.

Here are my thought on the upcoming dreamworks animated movies from 2024-2026
The Wild Robot: this will be as great as How To Train Your Dragon and Madagascar
DogMan: I’ve never read the book though I’m curious but the plot is very scary
The Bad Guys 2: yes because The Bad Guys is one of dreamworks best
Gabbys Dollhouse: to be fair it’s not made for me so I won’t get mad
Shrek 5: I understand it’s mixed feedback but I’m excited non the less though I’m more excited for Goat, Mario 2 and TMNTMM2 than it personally

I personally would not get too excited for it, but I am mixed with it because nothing can not top the first two Shrek movies, which they are the best. I also do enjoy its TV special such as Shrek the Halls. But if Shrek 5 does tells a good story, then I will be up for it.

I’m not sure about this one… in general it feels like movie studios are banking off nostalgia/past success to turn in a profit. Why isn’t their more new ideas being produced? Not to mention every franchise film was a new IP at one point.

People are only hyped for this for the nostalgia and potential Spider-Verse animation style. I heard some people say that they are not going to watch this movie if they use CG animation. It's a shame people want CG animation dead and replaced with the Spider-Verse animation style. And it also sucks how, despite Shrek being an icon for animation, Shrek Forever After is the one film in the franchise that's ignored and call that the worst Shrek film. I better not hear people acknowledge Shrek 5 as the real 4th installment in the franchise. And yeah, Frozen 3 will totally crush Shrek 5 and same goes for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as that one comes out only a week before
