Fantastic presentation. I really liked the case discussions and talking about what the patient went through to get diagnosed. I think it's important to discuss the who PMxs for diseases like this (ie. previous doctor's opinions and treatments up until the actual diagnosis) and previous attempts to get a diagnosis, rather than simply describing only your experience diagnosing the patient. It really helps bring light to the patients being people and having diverse and complex symptoms, rather than just a "textbook" autoinflammatory disease case. Very good speaker, sounds like a wonderful doctor.
I’ve had Stills disease since I was a little kid but none of my doctors could ever diagnose me. Most drs didn’t even believe that I got fevers and joint pain everyday. I gave up until I got a dr that believed me and referred me to a rheumatologist. By the second appointment he knew it was Stills disease. It took 40 years for Me to get a diagnosis. But I am very grateful
i had this some years ago in my mid 20s it took 24 days for the diagnose because i didn't had enough symptoms then they gave me 2 pills of cortisone and everything was gone next day i could go home i had to continue the cortisone for a year reducing it every month i never had symptoms again after exiting the hospital
Hi guys, there's a book by J King about this, he finds some psychological clean combination of strains attached to its flaring. It's called Bits & Pieces You Might've Missed About Your Adult-onset Still's Disease. Speaks about understanding those strains, reversing them, and helping the process with fasting, cryo, breathing, just to help the mind reverse that psychological stuff, very deep, from kids, behaviors that we don't understand sometimes we have them, as we're so used with them. Hope it helps. Helped me. Bless!
I am in my late 40s and have been knowingly sick pain, flu pain and fever once a month for a year and just yesterday urgent care mentioned autoinflammatory since all tests done this year thru multiple dr.s and ER show negative, I did have a reaction to a week after completing bactrim a few years and ago and was told maybe I am allergic, over the years looking back not sure if fevers were a thing but for quite a few years I have been dealing with body pains and feeling like a fever but never checking just kept taking ibuprofen.
i was diagnosed about 2 1/2 years ago, i finally got out of my first flair about 2 months ago. went to the chiropractor and got food poisoning, after a bout a month i am now back into my flair. i finally felt free of this horrid disease that grinded my very active life to an immediate halt. I am now going threw it once again. if there is any thing i could be doing to get back out of my flair please help.
Thanks for explaining sir have got adult still since 2years new and have been on prednisone and azathionprine with omeprazole but it seems is not working for me my pains keep getting worse my questions is please do know if IV glutathione and some order medication works, am thinking of getting IVi will love hear your reply thanks
Hey Alima, I too was on a load of everything from Prednisone, Methotrexate, then on Simponi once per month with no real changes. In my condition, I found a life changing difference once I was prescribed with Kineret (Anakinra). Within two days, my symptoms disappeared and I was able to drop the other medications quite quickly. I would suggest talking with your physician about it and try it out. The only bummer is that its a daily injection. It sucks, but in the end its very worth it and you get used to the needle.
@@juzz4433 Unfortunately not months, but years at this point (since 2015). Thankfully the biologics have let me have a 98% normal life. Fingers crossed it one day goes into remission, but at this point I fear it may be chronic.
I also have Still since 8 months ago. I ve been treated with Prednisone as well and Omeprazole, Methotrexate and Tocilizumab. I Think that Tocilizumab is really working. I m not anymore in pain.

I was lucky enough to get diagnosed by a resident doctor within 2 weeks of my first flare. Mostly because I had every classic diagnotic marker
