    Nice review. Just picked one of these up for the SLMM in July. Really impressed with its features.

    I have question. Montane trailblazer or tnf hydra 38 ?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt 4 роки тому +1

      Hi, thanks for watching and for your question. I have no practical experience of the TNF bag, but a quick "Google" suggests that it's a stiffer and heavier bag. The Montane is superlight and clings to you back like a frightened monkey!

    Hi. Great review. I currently hike for around two weeks a year in one go and camp along the way. I currently have an Osprey exos 48 and if I pack everything I need in tightly I have room left over. My tent goes in the front stretch pocket. I was thinking of getting this because of that reason. What are your thoughts on that.
    I suppose if it doesn’t fit then it doesn’t go in the hike so less weight 😁

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt 3 роки тому +1

      I'll be honest, the Trailblazer isn't the first pack I'd pick for a two week long excursion. It's brilliant as a fast and light daypack, but I'm not sure it'd be supportive enough for a fortnight of camping and trekking. The Exos is a good option as the backsystem is relatively stiff while the rest of the pack is super light, so I'd stick with what you've got. Harry

      @@trekitt thanks for reply. Trying to lighten kit up a bit. I think joe the 30 would be to small. I may go for the trailblazer 44. I would still be saving approx 300g. I like my exos but it seems to busy with all the straps compared to the simplicity of the trailblazer range.

      I'm afraid there is no native way to attach axes. You might be able to fashion a way of doing it but I'm not aware of any good solutions. Harry

    What sort of size Hydration bladder would you use for this rucksack please?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt 3 роки тому

      Montane don't specify the maximum size, but a 2L bladder will fit in no problem. There are also plenty of stretchy pockets on the shoulder straps/side of the bag for bottles if you need to carry more. Kind regards, Harry.

    Really enjoyed the video, I have a question about which Traiblazer to get: 30 or 44 litres. I want to use it for running but also hiking, so would you say 30l is enough for “lightweight” hiking? Is the 44l too big for running? If not I might get it as its ideal for hiking. I’d really appreciate your help.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt 5 років тому

      We've managed to fit an entire two days worth of walking kit into the 30, so if you're using it for running as well as walking then we'd go for the 30; the 44 will be too big.

    • @moustaphabaya7887
      @moustaphabaya7887 5 років тому

      Trekitt thank you so much for answering so quickly, my thought was that 30 has no frame... so will carrying gear in it for longer periods cause any sort of uncomfort?

    • @moustaphabaya7887
      @moustaphabaya7887 5 років тому +1

      Armpitjam 4 I ended up getting the 44 because it can also be made much smaller, I hiked with it the south downs way and did it in 3 days and the pack did great unless for the hip belt which hurt a tiny bit on the hips. Awesome pack! At the end of the day the gear is there to help us and its up to us whether to enjoy our adventures! 🤘🤘

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt 3 роки тому +1

      It's designed to be as lightweight and streamlined as possible, so my guess is it was left out for that reason. This raincover will fit: www.trekitt.co.uk/rucksacks/rucksack-accessories/lowe-alpine-raincover-black-small__9310

    Excellent review. Do you know if Montane intend to introduce a womens version of this pack?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt 3 роки тому +1

      Hi Jennifer, the Trailblazer range is unisex and tends to fit a wide range of shapes and sizes. The backsystem is far more adjustable than your average walking/trekking pack. Kind regards, Harry.

    • @Jennifer.4
      @Jennifer.4 3 роки тому

      @@trekitt Thanks for your reply. I have tried the trailblazer and unfortunately the fit is not suitable for me. I am a small female and have found the pack needs to be tightened to the maximum when wearing winter layers. The edge of the shoulder straps rub on my arms, so I am hoping they introduce a womens version. Regards, Jenny.
