Every time i get on youtube, i find a new song from Linkin Park and i find more songs to love to listen to. Chester never left, he's alive in each song.
This song describes perfectly a covert narcissistic person, blame shifting, victimisation, manipulative, and 0 empathy for the other one. Thanks, Linking Park for this masterpiece.
@@benicicek I don't think you can make a blanket statement like that, without it being from your own ego. Narcissists do need help, now granted they need to want to be helped. But if they do they should be encouraged to seek professional help, and deserve empathy like any other human being. Just with recognition and conditions that you have boundaries that you will not let them cross.
I don't find it narcisstic, but definetly toxic. I personally know these two types of person and while narcisst try to show you like he's always better than you and generally perfect, the other type is just playing vitctim all the time.
Yeah each anniversary apparently has never before heard songs. This one seems to have a lot of them. Songs that didnt make it to the OG album that can be its own album. Considering theres more albums they all will be the same with never before heard songs
This song speaks a lot of truths. I think we all met someone that just wanted to be more of a victim, that their pain was "larger" than our own and even though we understood their pain, they did not understand ours and even blamed us for being hurt and broken. I've met people like that in 2022, where their problems were larger than life and if you wanted them to be a source of comfort, they never held out their hand to comfort you in any way and even made things worse. Even after 6 years, Chester is still here speaking facts
I'm an avid fan of linkin park always the year of 2022 was the year triple trauma beat me black and blue August my dad died September 12 was the day of his cremation that same day 8 hours before my mom died October 4th was my mom's funeral that same day the judge decides my daughter is going up for adoption cause of her mom's past then in November after fighting to get my daughter my first ever child back to her true blood family I had to say my final goodbyes.

Linkin Park almost fullfilled what quality of a musician should be. They just never disappoint us.
This would have been a top 10 all-time Linkin Park song, and easily the best song out of Meteora. I can already imagine how the shows with this song in the set could have been, with Chester leaning over the edge of the stage and people jumping in the chorus! This is a HIT! The synth and melody are so beautiful, it has a sadness to it, but it's a beautiful kind of sadness. And the chorus just explodes with energy! It gives a good contrast to the song, and it was done so well! I wish I could have been in the room with them when they made this one. This is one of my top favourite songs by them now! It has the feeling as though this song is the bridge between "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora," like this was one of the earlier Meteora songs they made. The instrument sound and delivery sound as if it was made back in Hybrid Theory days, but it also sounds more mature than what was on "Hybrid Theory". Yet it has something that I can find in songs from "Minutes to Midnight," and "Living Things". This is honestly getting better and better as I listen to it more and more. Honestly, this could have been their best song ever with a bit more work. I absolutely love it. I wish Chester were here to sing it live. Thinking about that right now, wanting to not lose Chester is selfish. It was hard being Chester. He did not want to go, but he was trapped in the corner, and he felt like, at that time, this was the only way to stop hurting. It's a conflict between loving him and wishing he wouldn't leave us, thus making him suffer this torturous life he had. For most people life is good, yeah, we all get the occasional down or sad day, but now imagine living like this for most of your life. This is the real and true nature of depression. RIP Chester, you're missed dearly.
You hit nailed it 🤝❤️! From a lyrical standpoint this is in league with their most prolific, emotionally intelligent, introspective yet externally cognizant, and universal truth driven lyrics. Whether we’re talking about, “Halfway Right,” “The Little Things Give You Away,” or, “Talking To Myself,” the latter of which Chester wrote from his wife Talinda’s perspective any of the times she tried reaching out to Chester when he had ended up in a deep depression or struggling with his suicidal ideation. Also, musically this does fuckin HIT! 🙌🏼 If you or anyone else likes to add the best bonus tracks in with the main record on a playlist? This fits exceedingly well between, “Hit The Floor,” and, “Easier To Run,” in terms of sequence flow, feeling tone, and energy level. And, you’re right, I love how much this has in common with the structure of, “Faint,” and, “Crawling,” yet the subtle elements Joe added to Chester’s Pre-Chorus are so distinctive 🤌 This shit’s great 👏🏼❤️
You don’t know how it was like being Chester, and I highly doubt you know what being bi-polar or depressive is like, life isn’t “good” for most people, if you believe that you’re fooling yourself.
The last paragraph, wow I teared up. I never realised it was like that... I never understood that's what depression is like... I won't ever fully understand unless I experience it, but I can empathise and understand better than I did before. I will always love Chester, and those too who have depression, and even those without. I love you all and Jesus does too. Way more than you can imagine.

I will always be grateful for the songs on Linkin Park, in general with all guys, as it is always a relief to be able to listen to them. It always helps me with my anxiety problem. ❤️
I rarely find a song I feel obligated to scream along with, but this is one of them. I got out of a very toxic 2.5 year relationship a few months ago and I didn’t see how toxic it was until after we broke up. She did all of this, while I always tried to just move on with life after I struggled or fell down. She always wanted to complain, pass the blame, and be the victim. Nothing was ever her fault Thank you for putting my feelings into words for me Linkin Park
I guess you were like "Go on take it out on me, cause you know that I know just what you need. You want me to be gulty to be the one who's wrong." I cannot remember the rest of Villain I'm not Three Days Grace
This sounds like it came straight from my mouth, but my family instead. Unfortunately, it took my dad dying suddenly a year ago for this to register with me. Over the last year, I have realized how much of that was coming from him and many others in my family.
Meu sonho há uns 3 anos atrás era ouvir novamente Linkin Park com Chester cantando novamente, não esperava que iria se realizar tão rapidamente esse desejo
These new releases remind me of the days I would be so excited to discover new linkin park songs in elementary school. I miss the simplicity of those times. Especially hearing the band's old sound on never before heard material, that is such a strange blissful feeling

This song is about how some people tend to constantly talk about their problems and make themselves out to be the biggest victim. The singer can relate to this, as they used to be like that too. However, they eventually realized that constantly dwelling on their misfortunes wasn't helping anyone. The singer encourages these people to try and see things from a different perspective, instead of constantly seeking sympathy and complaining. They believe that everyone has the power to overcome their struggles and become someone who is not just angry and broken.
I don't see it as that. I see it as song about generational trauma and pointing it out to your abuser but getting no resolve when you try to find peace with them.

Wow. Is beautiful song ❤ a little some the point of authority. In the end of song ❤ Linkin park for ever

Well said.
Can’t believe it’s been 20 years. This is a masterpiece song. Still feels fresh. Chester’s voice is so unique….best music band ever
I feel that too, I listened to them all through high school. It's only now that I truely understand the lyrics.

Of all the unreleased songs from Meteora, this is by far my favorite. It could've been included in the actual album. It's just soooooo good.
This song describes perfectly a covert narcissistic person, blame shifting, victimisation, manipulative, and 0 empathy for the other one. Thanks, Linking Park for this masterpiece.
I have 0 empathy for ppl complaining about everything.
@@tenaciousgamer6892*blanket* statement 💀👍
I don't find it narcisstic, but definetly toxic. I personally know these two types of person and while narcisst try to show you like he's always better than you and generally perfect, the other type is just playing vitctim all the time.

I think no one expected to hear Chester's voice again, it's amazing I have no words
So did Mike. He rapped facts too
@@markhall9784 fcking crying my eyes out just reading this. hope you get the help you deserve to heal and go stronger out of it for yourself and by extension your loved ones. well at least the ones still available to you. and even if your the only one left. focus on the connection you have with yourself. took me years to realize and learn how to do it. but man it was worth every single moment of it. that feeling of inner wholeness and connection is something i wish every human can experience at least once in his life. like the boundaries made up by my mind throughout my live just crumbled and the world in return showed me aspects of itself i could never have dreamed about.

Полностью согласен! Их песни 20 летней давности словно из будущего! Музыка на все времена
Can’t believe this song didn’t make it to the album, thank you guys seriously.
Chester's voice really shines on this track. Such a unique talent. So thankful these tracks got released. RIP Ches!
DAMN. this song is excellent. Can't believe it didn't make the original album, but i'm so glad we still get to hear chester's voice on some new tracks all these years later. Hearing him is like being wrapped up in a warm blanket and i'll forever be grateful for that

Nothing was ever her fault

Gratitude ❤️🙏
I don't see it as that. I see it as song about generational trauma and pointing it out to your abuser but getting no resolve when you try to find peace with them.
