Agreed. This is my first time watching this, and I have only really recently heard of Toonami, but I find this to be pretty cool and fun. Would be awesome to see stuff like this today.
The one time it actually did feel like a TRUE “Total Immersion Event” The first was GREAT! But only for watching. Playing it was weird to send clydes against this thing. Then this one felt like it had stakes. The moment Tom interrupted the FREAKING Dragonball Z intro to ask a call to arms THAT felt like a legit rush to do. I sadly chose not to engage because even as an 8 year old I knew better than to use THAT old computer for something like Lockdown. But they still managed to make the shorts engaging, telling of how the users are waging war against this dilapidated dumpster in such a way that it felt natural (and ironic considering I’ve seen screenshots of the game and it’s kinda flat and mapped. Even the outer space portion.) Trapped in hyperspace is where it fumbled. The shorts just seemed too quick of a fix for Tom. The game was 3D finally but from my memory it was kinda surreal whereas the other two games felt designed and structured to be seamless with the event. Then again the third installments always did fall short don’t they? I do wish that adult swim allowed to do the game portions again. The webcomics are cool and all but it kinda takes away from what a “TIE” event stood for. Maybe someday.
I was pretty young when these events happened, and was always doing something active so I didn't get to sit in and watch the segments in their fullness, but I loved them. Had a few years where I sincerely thought I dreamed up the Interstellar 5555 and Gorillaz animations. Had trouble finding them. Toonami was awesome :D
Oh man this happened back when I was still a little kid using dial up. I vividly remember I was almost done beating one of the missions when my brother got pissed I was hogging the computer and screamed into the phone line to disconnect me. Pissed me the fuck off.
This really brings the good times in there. Seeing "Lockdown" was a way to know how it happened and still got some action before "Trapped In Hyperspace" but I'll stick with the thanks in advanced! #Toonami
Mika Channel the crew says that they feel super proud of this one. They skipped a whole year to work on this so it MUST be a magnum opus~ but that’s for us to decide isn’t it?
As fun as these Toonami TIE episodes and the tie-in games are, I feel like this one and Trapped in Hyperspace were copouts to get people to play the games.
***** Yeah! On the Cartoon Network website back in the day, they were these simple flash games. I'm sure someone has the games archived somewhere, it'd be real fun to go back and give them a try. You could find playthroughs here on UA-cam. Just look for Toonami Intruder or Lockdown games.
Lockdown to be fair felt like a good balance between getting people to play the game and still making the viewers only crowd still engaged. Trapped in hyperspace? Pfft yeah no arguing. Total copout. And the game wasn’t that cool anyways.
I personally enjoyed Lockdown over Hyperspace. Then again, I'm a little biased towards RPGs like this. It wasn't too hard, but you could get through it with just about any combo of DOKs
If you're still interested, yes. Also the game and others can be found here: www.mediafire.com/file/rbmt9kfblep72wl/toonami-game-archive-2012-04-30.tar.7z/file
+Zachary Verduzco There was a comic where Tom 2 died and was rebuilt by aliens into Tom 3, Tom 4 is his not the original Tom, and for Tom 5, we don't know.
This is TOM 2.0 which is the one who banished the Intruder in space. In the comics, he gets destroyed by an enemy fleet and gets dumped on a planet to die, however some robots rebuilt him and created TOM 3.0 (he is also TOM 3.5) TOM 4.0 is unknown of his origins but he is a seperate TOM in some desert-like planet, he also communicates with TOM 3.5. Now we have TOM 5.0 because the animators wanted to remodel him BUT he is the same TOM 3.5 (aka TOM 3.0)
and also this series of toonami with T.O.M. is called T.I.E. (Total Immersion Event),they are “The Intruder”,”Lockdown”,”Trapped in Hyperspace”,”Endgame”(comics only),”Intruder 2”,”Intruder 3” and then “Countdown”.
Can't believe I didn't partake in the joy of Toonami in the early days.
We need more of this nowadays. I wouldn't mine serving Lord Tom again like this. It would bring back memories.
Agreed. This is my first time watching this, and I have only really recently heard of Toonami, but I find this to be pretty cool and fun. Would be awesome to see stuff like this today.
Yeah we do
that was back when toonami was good
@@animator1110. there's one coming in November
@@animator1110. the forge just happened!
I actually miss SARA (Sally Timms) with the British accent from the early days of Toonami..
Rashada25 That was a British accent?

P.o.v. :Watching lockdown while under lockdown.
Lol, they prioritize anime broadcast over their own distress signal. Gotta love the dedication
Lmaoooooo
3:26 I love that dramatic music

The way that TOM cracks his knuckles doing that tractor beam is very very very amazing
This really brings the good times in there. Seeing "Lockdown" was a way to know how it happened and still got some action before "Trapped In Hyperspace" but I'll stick with the thanks in advanced! #Toonami
I like the message and the code showing, that was amazing
The interruption part and the thanks part was new to me, Lockdown is awesome
It's good to look back from "Lockdown", it's very... enjoying
You can say that again
TheJE32
That interrupted DBZ bumper, tho. That was an excellent touch.
😂 Fast forward to 2019, all I remember was Tom getting ate by the intruder and never knowing what happened to him. NOW I KNOW! Thanks bro
It's quite possible that the ships are the aftermath of the Intruder
Toonami and Adult swim since the 90s!! ^~^
That game brings back memories, wow
ACTUALLY if you go digging online, you can still find this TIE game and play it :)
i never experienced this due to i was born in 2006 but this is really cool and i love it
It showed on Cartoon Network before Adult Swim.
I loved the toonami games, I have been trying to find video clips of them.
I recorded that, along with X-Men Evolution Season 2. But now my vhs is gone because of the rain back in the apartment.
Aww.. rain .. 💜
Damn I miss the old days
Sigh i miss the days when toonami was on cartoon network.
🙃
She never did tell us "Tom says hi".
I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE FORGE
Mika Channel the crew says that they feel super proud of this one. They skipped a whole year to work on this so it MUST be a magnum opus~ but that’s for us to decide isn’t it?
Same here
I miss this version of toonami
Well they told us when toonami ends
As fun as these Toonami TIE episodes and the tie-in games are, I feel like this one and Trapped in Hyperspace were copouts to get people to play the games.
Who knows. It was good to let the fanbase interact with the block though.
I liked Trapped in Hyperspace. I have a crush on Swayzak.

Really wish I could play the online game that went with this (if it existed) but didn't have Cartoon Network then
If you're still interested...I found them all here:

lockdown;2001
Would like to see the DOKS come back...
eh, considering what happened with T.O.M during Countdown, I doubt he'd want anything else carrying a weapon.
10:45 cool robot
lets see if they make lockdown 2
I remember this
what was the ship that left anyway? and who was on board?
Have You Play *Toonami™ Lockdown* Game
did anyone ever figure out what that ship was?
Sadly we don't get to find out
old school
I heard that they were doing a second Lockdown this year, so I gotta prepare myself.
is there any gameplay of lockdown upload on utube
If you're still interested, yes. Also the game and others can be found here:

When I played Lockdown I didn't use any codes.
How did the Toonami faithful work the boys? Was it an online game????
How did Tom 2 die and become Tom 3 or is it Tom 3.5 and then how did he die and become Tom 4 and then Tom 5?
+Zachary Verduzco There was a comic where Tom 2 died and was rebuilt by aliens into Tom 3, Tom 4 is his not the original Tom, and for Tom 5, we don't know.
+Richard Mendoza I mean that he is the original Tom but we don't know how he went from 3.5 to 5
so what came first was it intruder or was it lockdown...its been so long I do not remember off hand
+Jleigh Swanson It was Intruder
what if sara v1 used a clyde for sara to look at things..
BTW, what's T.I.E. stand for?
+Angelo “AJBoy” Joseph Total Immersion Event. Basically an early alternate reality game.
can someone tell me how many of these "tom" series exist? its not just intruder apparently
This is TOM 2.0 which is the one who banished the Intruder in space. In the comics, he gets destroyed by an enemy fleet and gets dumped on a planet to die, however some robots rebuilt him and created TOM 3.0 (he is also TOM 3.5)

i always thought this was just toonamis way of segwaying between shows thats amazing
and also this series of toonami with T.O.M. is called T.I.E. (Total Immersion Event),they are “The Intruder”,”Lockdown”,”Trapped in Hyperspace”,”Endgame”(comics only),”Intruder 2”,”Intruder 3” and then “Countdown”.
What does t.i.e. stand for?
ImaginaryUA-camking ROBLOX Total Immersion Event
doggydogg10 oh thx
Wasn’t Tom2 black in the intruder
Was probably the lighting in The Intruder
Can someone please tell me the song in the background at 6:16
I know this is 3 years late but it sounds like "Skit 1" from Danger Mouse's album The Mouse & The Mask if you haven't found it already aha
Could the intruder have been behind this incident?
You can shut your ass up with those kinds of comments.
***** Good comeback kiddo.
Danielle Pluzsik you pervert!
so who was in that ship?
look it's a slender man ship
