That had to be a sphincter tightening moment when he started using that run off part of the track at 183!! I love my 2015 F Type R and it being RWD. but I may upgrade to a 17 or 18 SVR: I know the new ones now have SVR numbers, but I don't like the looks of them as much as mine or this SVR. Nice Vid great review.
I dont understand how all the F types tip the 1650+ kg kerb weight mark despite being 90+% Aluminium construction, Jaguars and Aston Martins biggest enemy is weight,
How would would it stand up to a Shelby 350R? Both seem so be in the same ballpark, even if one is a bit more aimed a track than the other. Loved to see that comparison someday. Good vid. Keep em coming.
We have an Aston Martin Vanquish. What do you mean that there is something lacking? It can reach 200mph and above and has a spectacular noise. The noise from the Jaguar F Type is shouty and loud whereas the Aston is sublime sounding. Orgasmic even.
Fast forward to 2020 and we see that the SVR has been discontinued... or has it? The 2021 f type r has the svr specs. Awesome but it doesn’t sound as good as the type r/svr, in my opinion but I have only seen a couple of videos.
What are your thoughts on comparisons between the gts, 911, and the svr? I have a major f-type bias, but it would be awesome if you guys could do a video comparing all three and then picking a winner!
The exhaust sounds so much better in person. The AWD SVR has 10% less total WHP than the RWD F-Types and carries 300 lbs more weight. In no way is it the fastest.
Love this thing. It's a lot more advanced than the standard v8, more than I thought it would. Shame they couldn't squeeze 590+ bhp. Oh well, not like I'll ever have the decision to buy one lol.
Its sound very artificial... nothing beats the sound of older engines with throttle bodies and carbs, they are what all modern cars try to copy and yet fail. Real engine noise comes from induction, not farting exhausts.
The 458 still stands as the best sounding V8, imo. The problem with the F-Type R is that it gurgles and farts too much; cool at first but the novelty soon wears off.
Ben Critchley Correct, in fact most older cars sound better. Before they were choked to death by sound proofing, over filtered air boxes and depending entirely on exhausts with fancy butterflies in the manifold. Back in the day, with free breathing engines, even 4-pot engines sound great, there are sooo many examples.
Such a beautiful car. Though I get the feeling they will need to make an SVR-R to finally bury zee germans. Porschar fans will still be banging on about the Cayman or 718 or whatever it is top model. Great effort though by Jaaag.

only the viper 2016 acr and the radical put a real wing on the back for real downforce the rest don't put a wing on like the mean it they put one on thats to small to really be effective like this car nice car but a large rear wing would improve handling

Is the F-Type loosely based on the AM VH Platform? Sure looks like it. Have you seen Steve Sutcliffe's review? He seemed to think it felt like it was on it's tip-toes at the rear.
No worries. I just like Steve Sutcliffe's reviews. Carfection is great, too, though. I love the car. It just seems SVR might have dropped the ball a bit on this one. Especially after the rave reviews of the (not to my taste) Range Rover Sport SVR.
No chance or choice of manual trans(?). I'm ten to fifteen years off of buying this car and I'm already not looking forward to having to do the manual and RWD conversion. It's a fine-looking beast, though. Kind of sounds like what I'd imagine a big Dodge p/u would sound like at WOT, but whatever. I like that it's optionally offensive for no good reason. That to me is high art. For serious.
