Bandai 1/100 HG YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Alto Saotome Use) - Build Overview and Thoughts

I went on holiday, built a robot and caught a cold. Sounds about par for the course for me.
A very unusual feeling set, the Durandal Valkyrie felt like a mixed bag once I was done building it, but after spending more time with the finished results I reckon it’s a pretty well-done piece, even if there’s some rather unusual elements (and a heck of a lot of stickers) involved in its construction. It’s probably a must-have for Macross fans though, and even those who aren’t familiar with the series, but fancy a unique building experience.
As mentioned, I had a rather rubbish cold for much of this video’s production, which is why my tone of voice throughout may be a little erratic. I imagine I’ll be back to a more consistent volume next time, so hopefully it doesn’t impact on the video too much!

I've always been curious about Macross but not enough to track down any of the series. The kit looks interesting, though I know I wouldn't be nearly as patient with the stickers as you were.

ive never bought a bandai robotech kit that was worth the amount i paid for it (despite them getting premium prices). there is ALWAYS some weak joint/joints, stickers i had to replace with waterslides, or really brittle plastic. id like to see motor nuclear or some other up and coming third party (NOT daban) take a crack it.. especially if they can make the transformation work without the proportions looking like ass.
