  • Organic street theater performance featuring authentic nomadic gypsy culture. Indian circus is passed through generations like an art of inheritance. This piece is performed by musicians, dancers and circus artists belonging to the Nath and Kalbelia tribes. I had the pleasure to write and direct this open air family show based on an 16th century legend surrounding the fort of Bhangarh. A production of D&F Bros Grand Indian Circus in collaboration with UK's Access All Areas.
"The Maharaja of Amer Bhagwandas build the city of Bhangarh as a gift to his son Madrav Das in 1573. The city flourished for 300 years until the Princess Ramawati was spotted by the black magician Sindhiya Heal shopping at the jewelry market. He felt very attracted to her and wanted to gain her love by all costs. Since the beautiful and young princess had no interest in the old spooky looking man, the wizard turned to his dark magic… He prepared a love potion and mixed in the princess’s favorite perfume and left this special bottle at the vendor’s shop. The young vendor however noticed the plot and advised the princess, who instead of using the scent, smashed the bottle against the fort’s walls. The wizard became very attracted by the stones in the wall but when he approached it the wall collapsed on top of the evil man."
