I once had a small Koi pond in the backyard. Then, the Sandhill Cranes discovered it on their annual migration. They ate every single Koi in the pond. I was so overwhelmed by their beauty, I never had time to get angry. Nature is by far more resilient and resourceful than we are. Just got to sometimes realize, we are all God’s creatures. Have a wonderful Christmas!
Peggy and Norm your videos are so inspirational. I know exactly what you mean about the vintage items. When I find items in the thrift store from the 50's-70's especially they remind me of important people in my life that are either long gone or live on the other side of world. The euphoria I feel when I find certain items is like a hug from the past. Thank you for sharing your collections. It gives me ideas of how I can think out of the box for my budding collections. Hubby has already made me two solid wood shelf units to display my smalls that are changed from season to season. 😀
Peggy, I totally agree with how you think about your vintage clocks and things that they remind you of simpler times which is how I want my life to be. The hustle and bustle of today's living are sometimes just a little too much for me now. Love how it was back in the day. Slower and sweeter. So I too have styled my home vintage to remind me of the good old days.
Oh My, so much fun stuff and memories 🤭 Love the 🦌 reindeers sitting on the stairs... They are all so cute 🥰. And i can see the clocks hanging in our front room as a child. .. I am Farm House with touch retro... Love retro 🤗 I am almost 70 and will be leaving my kids enough junk 🤦😂 Wish i had the energy to change over to all retro... How fun that would be ☺️ I want your energy when i grow up 😂 🤷... Well i guess i just have to live through you and Norm 🥰
Hi dear as always you did great job ,everything looks great and beautiful. You have a Lot gourgeas antique l love it all thanks for sharing.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
so much fun love your santa mugs & mrs claus have never seen those and the angels & carolers so many great things and the way you put things together love!! thanks for sharing
That is the cutest Mrs Claus I have seen ... @9:08 and love santas @8:56. I love your tree, my favorite ornaments are indented shiny brites. Put Garland on the fence and there is dinner. Lol 🍗 They dont fly much but we had one on our roof a few yrs ago. Turkeys. Lol
I am enjoying your Christmas videos and of course will watch them a few times to catch all the details. I think Peggy has been with me on my thrift trips here in sunny Saskatchewan. We sure dont see much vintage Christmas but I have found a few things like yours. I found a few ruffled plastic doilies with plastic poinsettias on them, and one day I found 2 lucite napkin holders for $12 each. That is amazing around here. One is actually a poinsettia and the other is a red flower. Now I have 5. They make me happy. And my friends are finding taper Santa candles for me. My display is not brass deer but silver candleholders and milkglass. ( I boldly steal all your ideas!). Sorry that your brother was not able to move in with you. That would have been great to see. But when you look around at all the treasures he has given you, you know he is with you. Have a wonderful Christmas. Your videos bring joy to us who are on the other side of your camera.
Hi Peggy and Norm! Your home is absolutely amazing. It’s hard to pick a favorite item because they are all amazing, especially the volcano tree! As always, thanks for sharing your lovely home. I know it’s so hard to get everything ready and I appreciate all you share with us ❤
Peggy Lou & Norm too! Tick Tock we love our clocks i have a bunch as well luv the clock shelf i just bought the same boot u have on the shelf! Everything's great! Stay warm & GO VIKINGS!!! Take care From Florida 🌴
Your collections are so cute. I love the tinsel tree. Who knew they would be so popular again, just like the ceramic tree so many of us made back in the 70’s. Thank you for the tour.
You are so wonderful to share your life with us. I enjoyed the video, from you to the wild life and also your collections. Thank you. We love you both and hope you have a Merry Christmas.
Hey there , Love your upstairs area all decorated for Christmas 🎄 those hobbiest deer on your stairs are so sweet! As are the bright eyed angels! You always amaze me with your collections 👍👍👍 keep up the wonderful content! Happy Holidays 🎄😊❤❤❤
Fun, fun, fun. I use a lot of the same items each year but place them in different areas quite often. I spent about a week putting up decorations and then one afternoon taking some back down…too many items that I love but not enough room. You two are great!
Hi Jeannee! Thanks so much for your great support and sending all your kind messages in 2022! Happy New Year! We wish many blessings for you and yours. Sincerely, Peg and Norm
Your collections are some of the best I've ever seen! Can I ask where you got all your black wire shelves? The tree on the rounds table is stunning. I just did the math, you and Norm have been married for 54 years! Wow, congratulations.
Hello Peggy, I'm here rewatching your videos as I do lol and as you planned up to show the clock above the metal shelving it occurred to me that the wall to the left (the wall over hang to the stairwell) could be a good place to put your brother's trio of large geese? I think they would look good there, just a thought. :)
Hi Gareth! Thanks so much for watching our videos more than once! So nice of you!😊 At first, I wasn't sure what wall you meant, but I think see where you mean. The stairwell wall upstairs is pretty small and not much room over that octagon metal shelf. The stairwell wall downstairs has quite a few things on it, and previous nail holes are always a problem, especially because Norm keeps telling me he doesn't want to paint anymore. 😕 I always strongly consider which direction bird plaques are flying in and that has limited areas as well. Those ducks are really big. I have this fun huge Burwood plaque of crazy birds in a tree that you may recall. It never looked good in a stairwell or on a side wall. It needed to be in full sight when you walked into a room. So I finally gave up and put it over the bedroom fireplace of the green owl room, even though they are not owls. 😏 I just couldn't give it up. They remind us of the 50's cartoon character Magpies, Heckle & Jeckle! 😁 Sorry, that's elaborating, but I'm just explaining how small our walls are and how big these plaques are.🙄 I have thought of only two areas in the living room, where they actually would have good space, but I'm just afraid of overdoing things in there. They would be so high up that they'd be a pain to dust. It's really thoughtful of you to be thinking of a solution for me. You are such a great support to us, and we're very happy to be friends! 🤗 We hope you've had a beautiful spring week so far. It's still really cold here, below normal temps. I think by next week, we'll see our first 50 degrees! 😃 Thanks for being in touch, Gareth! 🌸🌸🌸
@@Crazy4Retro yes I recall that funky wall art, in fact after you mentioned the cartoon in the video I googled and used to watch it. I'm like you it takes me ages to decide where to put things lol. Yes the wall connects to the ceiling of your lower hallway would be pretty high up, I'm sure you'll figure it out, I hope you don't mind my brain storming and don't feel I'm over stepping. I often rewatch your videos, I have all your home tours in a playlist that I put on in the background when busy. You often inspire me and I'm thankful to you both for that. I hope Norm is feeling better and is keeping himself well? Have an awesome rest of your week and keep warm and snug. 💙💙
Hi Donna! Thanks so very much for your great support and sending all your kind messages in 2022! Happy New Year! We wish many blessings for you and yours. Sincerely, Peg and Norm
Norm, Have you ever had to replace the motor that turns your tree? Just wondering what you found out there? We need new motors in the color wheel and tree turner. Bummer. Anybody out there with helpful info?
Hi Debra! Thank you for your question. Fortunately, our musical stand is still working, but it's stiff to start sometimes. I found this chat about fixing a colorwheel motor, so far. I'll keep looking. There are some motors out there for sale. Flickr: Discussing Color Wheel Motor Replacement? in Aluminum Christmas Trees www.flickr.com/groups/692087@N20/discuss/72157622077011597/ Here's another article on tree stand motor repair: 256.makerslocal.org/2017/12/27/rotating-tree-stand-repair/ I hope something above may help. Searching for the exact motor models would be best, I believe. Thanks again for your kind support❣️ Peg and Norm too
Thanks Norm for supporting your wife's love of vintage. We all are blessed because of it!
