A friend of mine was one of the foreign skydivers who did a few jumps with locals during the show. Unfortunately I could not attend the show, but I was lucky enough to be on the first commercial flight to the reopened Wonsan airport the year before.
I’m a private pilot, never flown military jets just an old pitts special biplane and I’m building a sopwith pup ww1 replica. North Korea has amazed me how they use and fly and maintain these old planes that we go see in museums. I know other countries still use old planes but North Korea still uses it until recently used mig 15 and 17 for training. It’s incredible. I think they do the same with old tanks and stuff as well
As an air traffic controller and an aviation enthusiast, it is my lifelong dream to attend one of these festivals! Those things are literally flying history!
As a kiwi commercial pilot, i still find it amusing one of our NZ built PAC750XLs (the white low wing at the start of day 2) was smuggled into the DPRK 😂 someone was in big trouble for that
This was the air show that NZ company Pacific Aerospace found themselves in hot water after one of their aircraft was found flying at the festival (a PAC 750XL). Quite funny.
Sam Chui, an aviation blogger has a video about it and I watched about Air Koryo history and the recent update which is only 6 aircraft of Air Koryo remain in service 😊😊
Yep, the DPRK has become increasingly more belligerent and hostile. Heck, they've sent troops to Russia to aid them in the Russo-Ukrainian War. How effective they'll be on the battlefield; I have no idea. Regardless, I really hope that peace will be restored forever to the entire peninsula, and that it will be reunified under the free, peaceful rule of the Republic of Korea.
7:10 the reason is because North Koreas fleet of mig 29s and su25s operate from the same base. That being sunchon air base. The mig 21s are based there at Wonsan

Brilliant... i really want to go there , but have no idea how to achieve the visas and routing .... thank you ... looks like a wonderfull society to me ... please please defend this at all costs .. no wonder the west wants to destroy this vision .. i understand the threat ..oh yes indeed ... my lord ..my king .. yeah
