Love love love this- yes it’s a bit slow but I bet she could have sung it faster. The coloruatura is matchless in terms of clarity and intonation. Always loved Gruberova. Such a characterful voice.
Goodness me! You've got me there! I stand corrected! I don't have a full score but just went onto IMLSP and checked the old Bach Gesellschaft edition and lo and behold, those little bits of figuration are notated, rather then just being ornaments. I would still stand my what I said somewhere else though. I don't think a faster tempo precludes somone with an an appropriate technique from executing pairs of 32nds accurately (if that's what one considers important).
@nilsuthor What 32nd notes? There aren't any! I don't have any problem witht the slower tempo but there ARE good singers out there who can sing 16th notes at a brisk tempo without any difficulty.
I think it's pretty horrible too. I'm a big fan of Gruberova but I think this sort of music is left to those who know what they're doing with is. All that Can Belto sliding about isn't appropriate for anything of this idiom. It's a bit like wallparering over an old master.
This is one of the best versions of Jauchzet, a beautiful HD recording, superb diction, superb trumpet, and an appropriate tempo.
Excellent Bach!! The difficult piece is turned out in near perfect fashion. Thanks for the post
R.I.P. Edita Gruberová from Slovakia - the best coloratur soprano...
Masterpiece!! Thank you.

Was heißt das: Zu viele "L" in "alllen"?????? Das, was sie bei "allein" macht, heißt ein Triller.
@DessayBestSinger was?
Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen. Zu viele "L" in "alllllen"
