Great video, I agree with mostly every point that has been said Imo quests are a good add to the game due to them giving players a more concrete objective to play and to avoid letting new players getting some of the meta characters right away, however I have to say that some quests are really tedious and boring to go through (Ink quest 3, Error quest 5 cough), as they require you to just wait and grind or to get carried by someone for bosses, that's why I'd keep the quests but change up their requirements and remake Dream and Nightmare bosses specifically towards making them more teamwork based bosses without exceeding the difficulty of Ink and Error, which I think are fine the way they are rn for more "solo" players. About the grinding I also agree that Utc has been pushing in that way too much, from the Dungeon and Orbs to the 2023 Halloween event and Player's Dust bosses, it seems a good concept and its actually fun to at the start but over a short period of time it easily gets tiring to farm and do the same long dungeon/boss again and again, I know its hard to keep something interesting to public for a long term but trying out new ways to gain rewards would be good instead of just having to gather by the same way a certain currency to buy what you want. This is what I felt like pointing out from my prospective as Im writing this comment, there's surely more issues smaller or not, but I'm not gonna dive into it too deeply 🙏 Respect for having Empire Dream as your pfp btw ❤ Indeed a man of culture
I don't know how to begin this comment. But i'd like to start it off as, thank you. I stated this before in the official discord server, but I'm not perfect. I've made many mistakes, but alongside it there have been great ones too. But my biggest mistake was never letting people in and taking all the burden myself. People with your insight help the game massively as people with my insight get clouded judgement. I have started giving up control to the new developers in hope they can make what the community want and connect with them. Nice video, As a member of this community for over a year + and being staff for a while, even to rn as a dev, I have to point out some points of your videos. I love the way the video was setup in chronogical order, and the way it goes through aspects, but i disagree with the characters having different mecanics being the issue. I'd rather say that the issue was how those mechanics were abused by the community to create unbalance. Take shinigami for example, at the time he was basically the only character to be able to "pull" you constantly. The community abused the unbalancing of that move and truely put shinigami in a menace state. Most of the recent character's issue is balance, because they all have one very strong move that is so op that it makes for overall unbalance of the game. That is mostly why old players quit, becuase if you were one day off the game people would get more mechanics to abuse and you could get beaten by practically any new character and no chances for beginners to even try to beat you. As for the custom gamepass, which i am involved in a lot, owning Righteous Error as a custom and being the guy that made upper customs have a rework themselves. I will say; No, it isn't true that people who bought 100k customs didn't get their custom. It is a big misunderstanding of the community, as it is because of the original setup of the Upper Gamepass Customs that were problematic. Yes, the owner didn't handle the first round correctly, but the 2nd round was pretty well handled. Now i do agree that customs for the public should had never been a thing in the first place, as custom characters should be exclusive and not really an unfair advantage towards others, they did get their customs. The game overall is still good, the main issue for it is the huge grinding required from a new beginner with quests and awakenings and so many things, on the top of the bad balance that core + provided for the game that is making utc fall off. As a new dev, I will try to maybe sort out some of these problems in the future to maybe realive utc, as i feel like I can't let it die after so much time that was put into it and a game with so much potential but ruined by the many bad choices made by demo. good video, you actually managed to get the creator out of their shell and finally respond. Ina way it feels disingenuous since this whole time they’ve been ignoring everyone, but you did manage to do it. I wish you included more of the flaws to get it through demo, but overall good job
whilst i agree with the points made in the video, there really isnt enough points for me to fully agree either, first up i want to say is that during the section saying about "some of the old comments in staff are disugusting", there couldve been proof shown OF what was said, ive tried looking myself but i couldnt rly find anything, tho this was ages ago as now im banned from the discord but the things i found werent bad enough to be a point so some clarity on that would be better for the video and the argument, understandably if it was said and you couldnt find evidence, it shouldnt really be made as a point but a side note if anything. my other issue and main issue of this video is the lack of points made, from transcript i counted 3 major points along with the comment mentioned earlier and new poorly implemented systems, being the p2w aspect of the game now, the bosses and quests and the very similar nature to other games, namely ucmt, but there isnt much depth into them that i could find other than raise them as points and theres just, not enough points really. some points that could be added is the consistant powercreep that slowly makes interesting and fun characters irrelevant and replaced by chars that feel shit to use in a pvp sense, not just pve. quests that dont require you to be straight up carried require a ton of unneccisary waiting, and even those where you can be carried generally need to be either bought or wait an ungodly amount of time for a chance. the introduction of the play as yourself stuff ended up with underpowered weapons with stupid damage yet still outclassed majorly (i last played just after the weapons release so might be outdated). one last part is a lack of info given about not just the game, but the server and the operations, of course theres probably some issue with not knowing, last i remember you got banned for somethin and you havent been staff, or atleast not when i was so i can understand, but i feel a big part of the issue at hand IS the owner, his money hungryness, carelessness and laziness are the factors to many of the issues. example a lot of bugs that are found generally are not tested from when i was staff ages ago due to demo randomly adding like 3 major things right before an update and a lot of the movesets now are generally bland and rehashed due to both demo being lazy and not listening to staff who give valid suggestions. tldr: add proofs to some claims, go in depth on others and just add more theres probably some more points i havent said due to outdated info p.s i know this is probably biased in some way, i have a deep hatred for demo after everything ive seen of him, but there are some criticisms of the video that are important to note to even if the video is accurate thanks for listening to my horribly written essay (i am to lazy for punctuation ngl), King would be proud of me if it wasnt utc i was rambling about
To be honest i liked this game in its prime where old cross and old insanity were better where we had old ink and error ever since new stuff were added to the game my device just kept crashing and were now starting to get op characters(which depends on player skills ofc) i already quit this game it use to be my favourite in its prime but the new stuff are just annoying me Oh also its now a grinding simulator
I do agree with a lot of this especially for dungeons design however orbs aren’t super important and now drop from bosses. A lot of the issue I see with the game is not having a “starter boss” or having a more team based challenge. Demos transparency is definitely not fun to deal with however we have a new dev which will hopefully help with that. I really enjoy the challenge of enraged dream however a lot of that is rng of where something spawns. Nightmare is fun but he isn’t really a challenge. If these bosses had more objectives you needed to do while fighting it I think it could be a lot more fun. PvP in this game is mostly ruined for me due to special characters and judgement hall. 404 and alpha are not fun to fight due to getting hit usually being a small mistake costing tons of hp and special characters make me feel like I miss out on so much unique PvP. Overall I still enjoy utc but a lot of that is the people not the game. Game passes are super expensive literally all game passes combined are 4700 robux around $50. I hope this game can improve from its current state however looking at the roadmap it doesn’t seem like it sadly. Back then the Ink and Error bosses felt unique and genuine to their canon counterparts but now have been "reworked". And now we have spam or rng in every boss making people hate the bosses. and having to rely on getting carried to win its pretty sad ngl, I miss the old days of this game.
Honestly true The boss fights are so stupid annoying But a nice refresher was the realm verse nightmare fight It had stages Unique attacks Even stages Then when the actual nightmare and dream boss came out it was just annoying
I absolutely hate fighting ink and error and so does everyone else I've seen the boss item spawn multiple times and get completely ignored because nobody wants to fight them anymore
