I've been getting my boots dirty, at least a little bit. I have a tarp and I've been practicing different pitches. But I do plan to hammock camp in the future. Though I do have a hammock. It was good for me to see the process from a first time prospective. Thanx to you both.
On a good weather, having the tarp sitting on top of the ridgeline is ok. But, during inclement weather condition or heavy rainfall, it's ideal to add PRUSIK KNOT and attach the tarp UNDER the ridgeline. That'll prevent the hammock camper from getting wet under due to water leakage via ridgeline. Essential Knots to learn: - Bowline Knot - Truckers Hitch - Double Fishermans Knot - Prusik Knot - Taut Line Hitch - Siberian Hitch - Canadian Jam Knot - Half Hitch & Double Half Hitch.
You can put a toggle on the ridgeline each end of the tarp. Water should run down the toggle and drip from it, rather than down the ridgeline under the tarp (and on you).
loving me some outdoors Glad to be of assistance in any way I can. Greatly appreciate you watching as well. I really had fun camping with James on this trip. There's a video on my channel of our camping trip if you want to check it out.
Been a tent camper for a long dang time, and if wife is with me still am. However been getting more and more into hammoks for a while now when I'm soloing. Some pretty nifty tips here that I'm going to have to employ. Thanks fellas!
Leo did a good demo of hammock set up..the first thing I replaced with my hammock was the cords that came with it to the tree hunger straps, I like hammock sleeping
That is very cool. Hammocks really are comfortable though? I like a hard mattress so I can't imagine liking that sleep position. I don't even use pillows
loving me some outdoors I do. Just do a Google search for Irish Zombie Nation and I should pop up. Here is a link you can copy and paste if that helps: ua-cam.com/users/IrishZombieNation I greatly appreciate your interest in checking out my channel.
