I don't see how this affects the starting lineup. Yes, it hurts to lose depth but that can be overcome with incoming players like Joziah Edmonds and Andrew Sprague. Cole Sullivan looks like a future star on defense too so I'm not really worried. As far as I can see, Michigan is one of the few top programs that is mostly relying on players they developed in-house. I believe that still will carry them a long way in 2024.

There needs to be profit sharing. B10 and SEC players should automatically get somewhere between $50k - $100k, something the 2 conferences need to get together to agree on. All other NIL cannot come from the schools. The other 2 power conferences players should get $25k - $50k per player. This is because of the big difference in TV rights money between them. The rest of the conferences should be in the $5k - $10k range depending on what they make. The B10 and SEC (and other 2 "powers" if they want) should form their own governing body to come up with NIL, portal, and other recruiting rules. The NCAA has become completely useless and should be left out. Their rule should be left to academic eligibility and scholarships. Revenue sharing should be involved and both should agree to portal rules such as not poaching players from each other in the spring (something the SEC already does) and limit the number of penalty free transfers to 1 or 2 per player. This should eliminate the constant free agency and pat for play garbage we're seeing but still give the kids opportunities to improve their situations. There's still time to fix this before it gets completely out of hand. The way it's going recruitment is going to be how much can me and I go to the highest bidder. Then every season after the school's have to do it all over again as they all go fishing for more money. It'll ruin college football and destroy the things that make it special and unique and I'd hate to see it.
I’d be very careful with the pay for play. You don’t know what the money would do to these 17-18-19 year olds. It’s not something I would want to give out upfront or mainly freshman. Work ethic may change, loyalty, and most importantly life goals may change.

This is the nil era now they probably can't do that anymore. Remember a lot of those players who won the natty were at mich before the nil era. Mich does a great job keeping the current players with nil but now that's not the case don't think they can sustain that anymore till they get with the program in my opinion js.

We all know UM is not going to be like other schools when it comes to NIL. It’s seems to have worked out thus far. NIL became official summer of ‘21. Warde continues to disappoint us at every opportunity. Didn’t get Jim’s contract extension taken care of and that SHOULD HAVE BEEN EASY. Destroyed what JB built in basketball. Lost the entire defensive staff when Jimmy left. Lost the baseball coach to Clemson and still hasn’t fixed the NIL problem. Time for wardeee to hit the bricks. 🧱
