Hey Cameron, how are you? I was just reminiscing about 1990, It movie. You remember the funny part of the library scene when Pennywise showed up to Richie and asked him if he wanted a balloon, but one didn't seem enough, so It made many balloons start falling from the ceiling. To be honest, one balloon is not enough for me, I need a thousand LOL. Have a scary day.
Not necessarily nauseous, but I definitely feel fatigued after recording. I always have to have water nearby because my mouth gets parched from my crazed ramblings. I think recording a video is mentally strenuous activity! I also feel very nervous while recording, wondering if what I’m saying is even making sense. 💀

Another great video and great book haul! Lots of awesome-looking covers! I'm sorry you feel ill after filming for a while! I have been doing UA-cam videos and some live streams for years. I do feel worn out afterwards. Not sick but just worn out. The editing also wore me out because I used to obsessively cover all my cuts, which takes forever. Now, I've just been leaving the cuts in and uncovered lately because I see a lot of others doing that. But because of editing taking so many hours, I stopped doing so many edited videos and concentrate on live streams more often instead. It could be your light too. Stinger is the first, and right now, only, Mccammon book I’ve read. It was a fun book and I would say it is a good place to start. U should know though, the actual action of the book doesn’t really start until after the 200 page mark. Once it does, though, it’s well worth it.
I broke into Ramsey Campbell through his short stories, specifically "Alone With the Horrors", a collection that covers a big swath of his output through the decades. I tend to read short story collections first, if possible, with writers I am reading for the first time. I find I get more of a sense of them and their styles that way, instead of jumping into a novel and realizing 150 pages in that I'm just not digging it. However, with Robert McCammon I've only read "They Thirst" which was fun but also kind of predictable.
Bro! I've started to film videos myself and I feel the same thing. I'm not good at all right now so I had to do a ton of takes and in the middle of it I felt dizzy and just bad and had to lay down for a bit, I thought it was just me, sounds but it feels good to know I'm not alone
I like the new intro, but I’m not going to lie, I miss the old one. I gotta read Ramsey Campbell soon. I have a few books by him. STINGER IS MY FAVORITE, FAVORITE McCAMMON BOOK!!!! OF ALL TIME!!!
I had the same copy of Out Of The Night when it first came out and made the mistake of lending it to my coworker. Found it last year on kindle and loved it all over again. Can you tell me the titles of the 3 stories in The Bone Yard? I'm not sure if I read it before.
Hey Cameron. Ramsey is brilliant, though I know some people who can't get into his work because his writing is very strange and unique, so be prepared for that. Ironically, though, Darkest Part of the Woods is the only book of his that I *haven't* read, the reason being that I was gearing up to read it when his publisher asked me if I'd write the introduction to his following novel, The Overnight, and so I ended up reading an ARC of that one instead and then never got round to going back and reading the previous book (although I do have it on my shelves). If I was being honest, though, I'd recommend reading his short stories first to get a flavour of his writing before diving into a novel. A great collection of his is Dark Companions, so if you can get a cheap copy of that I'd recommend going for it. By the way, do you still have my list of 'Wants' that I sent to you a year or two ago? If so, have you spotted any of the books on it while you've been out and about? I appreciate, though, that most bookstores have been closed for most of the last year, so I'm guessing not.
Hey Mark!! Thanks so much for the feedback, I’ll definitely try to start with his short fiction first. And yes, I still have all your books and I’m thinking I’ll go ahead and send you what I have. I know we were waiting for me to find more, but I haven’t been finding much from your list at stores. Most of my shopping has been online or trades with friends. Send me an email at bookmovieguy@gmail.com and I’ll follow up with you on your address and make sure I send you all the books you wanted. 😎
Thank you! Hope you keep enjoying the videos. I will definitely be doing lots of Halloween reading recs around the beginning of October or end of September 🎃
Night Walkers is a YA novel but I think only the hardcover edition listed on the book state it is YA, the writing style is very much YA. I read it about 2 and a half years ago and didn't realize it was a YA novel until I started reading it.
I would not be insecure about not reading everything. Alot of this stuff was written before we were even alive. We have more literature to read than other dudes did 30 years ago. The books keep growing, so, it's harder for the younger generations to have "read everything by" so and so.
You probably get sick afte rconcentrating for so long. I am not a booktuber or make videos, but after reading for some hours or video gaming for hours, I get that same feeling too. Remember to take care. =)
Hey Cameron, do you have a public email? I’m going to go through my books over the next few months and if I need to get rid of any, I figured I’d give you first shot. Regarding Ramsey Campbell - nice guy, but his writing is dense. He creates an atmosphere like no one else but it’s not light reading. I haven’t read that particular book but his novel “Ancient Images” was accessible. “Stinger” was the first Robert McCammon book I read and I think it’s a great book. A lot of fun. Overall McCammon reminds me of a less vulgar Stephen King - still adult but not as in love with profanity.

Night Walkers is a YA novel but I think only the hardcover edition listed on the book state it is YA, the writing style is very much YA. I read it about 2 and a half years ago and didn't realize it was a YA novel until I started reading it.
Thank you for letting me know! 🙌
Rocking horse is expensive. The cheapest one online right now is $30
I would not be insecure about not reading everything. Alot of this stuff was written before we were even alive. We have more literature to read than other dudes did 30 years ago. The books keep growing, so, it's harder for the younger generations to have "read everything by" so and so.
Totally agree with you. Well said!
EDIT: Literally the next comment after yours says shame on me for not having read them yet 😂
90s and 80s story used contain the same plot with some haunted toy or something else still 90s books are always best.
They are the best, cliches and all! 😆
You probably get sick afte rconcentrating for so long. I am not a booktuber or make videos, but after reading for some hours or video gaming for hours, I get that same feeling too. Remember to take care. =)
Ramsey Campbell: The Doll Who Ate His Mother ... McCammon: Boy's Life ... Post-video ooziness: adrenaline?
Thanks Troy! And it seems like presentation fatigue from some of the suggestions I’ve had.
I do! You can hit me up at bookmovieguy @ gmail . com. Sorry for the delayed response, I’ve gotten a bit behind on comments so I’m playing catch-up. 😎
Where do you find the books?
All over the place! Haha Used bookstores, thrift stores, eBay, trades with friends. It’s a treasure hunt. :)
@@LibraryMacabre nice info, thanks! 👍🙂
I mean, those vintage horror paperbacks are just book porn , let's call it by its name 😂👀 That dragon ❤ perfection
Added a lot of this to my whislist and hope to find them one day without having to pay a kidney and half a liver fot them LOL Found a copy of Out of the Night second hand. Purchased while watching this video.
I have onlly read The Invitation by Ramsey Campbell and really enjoyed it. That being said, you can skip the Netflix movie adaptation 😂
Is that the Invitation with the dinner party and the cult? I loved that one! 😂😂 Yes, these books are totally book porn! 🤣 I’m glad you were able to find a copy of Out of the Night. It looks so fun and pulpy. :)
@@LibraryMacabre I guess my brain was Out of Order after all the book porn. I meant to write The Influence by Ramsey Campbell LOL
But you had me at invitation to a dinner party and a cult...where do I sign up for that?
The Invitation is on Netflix here in the states, so hopefully it’s streaming where you live too! It’s so good.
@@LibraryMacabre Ahhh yeah I did watch that one. They also turned The Influence into a movie but that one was a mess so stick to the book 😂
You're probably getting over heated from the light you're using.
It seems like presentation fatigue. The lights don’t really get hot, I’m just not a social person 😂
"That's spelled with a "C", not a "K". 😅😅😅😅
