I took the Eunsu storyline very differently. During the proposal, he looks so hesitant to give an answer, but the other two friends keep chanting "say yes." Eunsu turns to Goyeong whose silent, and there's a moment of them just staring at each other, and to me, it read as Eunsu wanting support to not go through with it. But Goyeong gets peer pressured by the others to join in on them, and that's when Eunsu turns around and agrees to the proposal. Next morning: Goyeong: "How does it feel?" Eunsu: "You were there. How did I look like it felt?" Again, to me, it was both of them acknowledging the true feelings, but neither of them were willing to say it straight like it is.
The scene about the mattress company in the news, to me, was a pivotal point for Go Young because he was in such a funk at the time that he laughs at the news because maybe he thinks that no matter how bad he feels his life is, he could never get to as low a point in life as his father.
16:35 Long Time No See is a KBL series produced by Stongberry in 2017 I think. It has a pretty spicy scene. You don't see the act being done to the person, but you see his response and ill tell ya. He was having a fun time! It probably one of the best early KBLs in my humble opinion. Its only short I think it has 3 Eps, but definitely worth a watch 🥰
Came on here after listening to podcast to say same thing about Long Time No See. Its one of my faves- its surprisingly kinda fluffy despite the synopsis. I watched it on Gagaoolala
27:36 That's funny because in the book Young Soo is twelve years older than Go Young. But he ends up not introducing him to his friends (for obvious reasons)
51:29 I don’t think that is true , I found the ending to be very happy and hopeful, I think you guys will love the next episode. Especially compared to one of the past ones
38:04 ''When Gyu-ho and I went to the Jongno district office, he hesitated over deciding how to spell his name in English. I wrote down “Q-ho” for him instead. It made him glad that the spelling was easy to remember. '' Edit: Are you guys planning to do a video once you've finished reading the book?
This novel also has a movie version starring Noh Sanghyun. The film tackled the first chapter which is centered on Goyoung’s & MiAe’s friendship. It came out less than a month before the series was released.
Divas, some recommendations... There are specifically two other KBLs with way more explicit scenes. One is called Double Exposure, from this year, and another one called One Summer Night from 2017. Probably the only actual explicit Korean BLs as far as movies. I may have seen a very amateur-ish, very indie one but I can't remember names atm.
Yall making a point that Goyoung does not know how to console his friend and be there for them really, is something i did not really pay attention to, like wow! They were really always there for him, to go party, to meet his bf, to question if his future bf was gay, the suicide tentative, his mom's funeral, with the breakup with Gyu ho...but now he was awkward having to be there for Eun Soo🤔he tried tho...by asking if he was happy, but it was more for him to understand why he has to go to the marriage route and realize it was actually an option for people like him and maybe just maybe if he stayed long term with Gyu ho that could have been an option for him. His dad was a piece of shit😤and him using this matress to fuck was a bit fuck u to him i think😅and also he did not want another man on the bed he shared with Gyu Ho😢 And Eun Soo, that beautiful man, i think he does not actually want to get married but decides to stay in what feels just comfortable to him😕maybe not to be lonely when he comes back from the flights, to know that he has someone waiting there for him instead of just hook ups. But even if he does not have a lot of sequences like Mi-ae did, his presence was felt. Goyoung was closer to him than to the 2 others. That whole Habibi thing to me is just Goyoung trying to find excitement back by being chased/chasing after someone like he used to do, that's him trying to feel SOMETHING because his heart is dead after Gyu ho left, he is living in robot mode, routine mode
The book was first published in 2019. That's probably why they don't mention the pandemic.
This is the most "old married couple" energy that I've ever seen you guys give 😂😂😂😂

Oooooh that's a great way to view it😢

38:15 I think he use to use Q in the hook up apps that’s why Go Young thought it might be him
I JUST NOTICED THE CHRISTMAS TREE WITH PHOTOCARDS

Could be a BLBL Book Club episode instead!

I thought gyu ho died when he got the call the episode 2 trauma hit me very hard
21:49 damn it didn't realise you guys sat so far apart for these filmings
HE REALIZES EVERYTHING IN EP 7 AND 8. He realizes he was horrible wiith Gyuho and regrets it.
Hanbin's hamster is judging you both
In JBL is more you will see more realistic NC scenes. The end of the world with you has 3 or 4 that honestly I that was real.
