South Cape San Blas Beach Drive Part 1a

December 2021. This is the Salinas Park Entrance.
South Cape San Blas - Salinas Park south to the Lee Beach Entrance. (Indian Pass Beach.)
From the park, I drove north to the Lee Beach Entrance. It was a beautiful drive.
I was in a Toyota Tacoma 4x4. I had to use 4 wheel drive to get onto the beach, but mostly kept it in 2 wheel drive just to check the conditions. (As lots of folks ask if they need "4 wheel drive" to drive on the beach).
The answer is YES, you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The sand alone in the Salinas Park entrance was thick enough for 4 wheel drive, just to get on the beach. Once however on the hardpack portion of the beach, two wheel drive is fine. Don't let this fool you though, as there are plenty of places where the sand is soft and you WILL get stuck in a hurry.
