All sorts of guns malfunction all the time. The malfunction is cleared and two minutes later everyone tells you: "I never had a malfunction with it." They're talking about a too short/weak magazine spring for a 10 round magazine. So I guess it lead to a failure to feed.
While there is almost no flip at all, he doesn't force the gun down in the moment of recoil, as I see it, he allows for the small snap from his angled wrist of his left hand and than comes back where he was before the shot broke. He's stabilizing it all with his type of grip, but he's using way less than he could, keeping part of his hands soft.
I'm hoping the next video up is pt 2...
