I use a different method and when i use it i can do around 3 laps around the whole map on the glider without touching the ground or using anything to elevate me

Holding it by the middle and the right side then putting it to your side helps you get a lot of speed and you can turn fast.

One thing found out is that you head also helps move the glider. So if you turn your head the glider will follow. I prefer that instead of using my hands but both work well.
