I think Traska's color is not exactly the same. I like it too though. But it is thicker and the sapphire is not domed and not in the same league generally.
If I remember correctly, on their forums, I think Halios aren't going to make any more of the stainless steel version of this, and are concentrating on making a bronze version of this. I don't think it means there won't be any more Seaforths, but not this current stainless steel model. I don't mind it being a small production and it can go out of stock, but I really don't like that it's only pre-ordering and before the product is even on sale, it's already out of stock. I just feel that, there should at least be some set aside to be able to order and not just pre-order only.
I'm not sure there's anyway for everyone to be satisfied here. The first two runs weren't pre-orders and they sold out fast, the 3rd run was a pre-order and anyone who wanted one could have gotten in on it. In all 3 runs, there were people not happy with the process. I do feel like the pre-order is the least offensive as anyone who wanted one could have gotten one (or multiple watches).
Had that same exact watch. Sold it, along with all my Seiko and Hamilton watches to get my new Omega SMPc, the waveless ceramic version in blue. I know you had black. Great watch overall. Love it. I was underwhelmed with the Halios, honestly. But not bad.
That is a gorgeous diver! It actually looks like you could use it as a dress watch very easily with that blue dial. It’s a really unusual blue color. Very nice watch! Great review Rob!
I think the pastel blue dial is too polarizing for some of the initial buyers. I'm seeing a lot of these pastel blues for sale on the Bay and forums. Halios knows how to make them! I'm on the hunt for a Seaforth as well.
Tu877 i agree, the postal blue version is the only one i would pay for, not sure why you would change a good thing, especially one as successful as this.
I always believed that Halios prices were higher than alot of other brands. I own the Puck and it is a nice tool diver. I think the new Deep Blue Master Chronos with the Valjoux 7750 offers more for the buck than this Halios and the accuracy is superb. Halios is known for very small and limited production of their models and the resale value on the Secondary market is unbelievably high.
Thanks for this review of the Seaforth. I am sure it is a great watch, but I had put my name on the waiting for various models, over the last two to three years, with no luck. I suspect that that there is a "Preferred Customer" list or something, and there is a second waiting list for the rest of us! It is getting to the point that I have given up altogether. Too bad!
The Seaforth is not being produced any longer. But he had 3 rounds of releases, one of which was a pre-order window that was open for a long time. People complaining about not being able to get one, then you didn’t try.
Pretty unique design but I don’t exactly agree with the pricing. I get that they may need to price it at $690+. but just not for me. Even with the ETA movement, I’d rather buy an NTH with the 9015 for a considerable discount. Not to mention half the price if you’re talking secondary market. I like the black and white retro LE model with a non moving bezel. But I think those were even more money.
I figured out that most brands use 120 click on 12h bezels because a bi-directional bezel has a ball bearing that makes the clicks soft and less satisfying ... :)
Not interested in these but on his website it says the Puck would start being available in late February. No one answers emails on the question on when to check back for availability.
That dial colour is spectacular! This or the Traska Freediver are the only watches I know of with that great colour dial.
I think Traska's color is not exactly the same. I like it too though. But it is thicker and the sapphire is not domed and not in the same league generally.
That is a beauty! I love that metal bezel!
That blue is pretty slick.
Was gutted to miss out on these, wanted the grey sunburst with the sapphire bezel. Perfect dimensions for my little wrist.
I like the blue on that dial.

I had a chance to check out the same exact model at a meet up in LA. Such an amazing piece. Great review!
Thanks for the review. Looks like a quality watch with a unique dial.
Halios make such great watches and that blue is sweet.
Beautiful watch ! Dig the blue dial and blacked out indices !

That color looks better live! Thanks Rob.

That dial is beautiful. Reminds me of Cape Cod or Maine.
This is the one i need.
It will happen at some time
Random Rob True that!
Tu877 i don’t need it that much.
Tu877 i agree, the postal blue version is the only one i would pay for, not sure why you would change a good thing, especially one as successful as this.
Different but nice, thanks for sharing!👍
I really like this one.
everything is tight and clean. right on lol

High price on preowned because of silliness.. I will not purchase a watch from a company that plays these games of limited Edt..
Yes, kind sir, may I have another lume shot? 😉
Nice watch!! I love that color.
Their website doesn’t have any photos! Need I say more?

Good for you... Buy a Junkers or Baltic.
Looking good

I almost feel that to be true with most watches. Try harder and make it happen.
Random Rob complaining is easier though
Kellen The Time
Yes, and also a waste of time. I have no time to waste.
Current prices on ebay are over 1500 USD....
Very nice watch. If it were sub $500 I would be interested. Also lume not good enough for the price (imo).
Great topic.
Thanks for the vid Rob, another great one. I consider myself pretty well versed on watches but I don’t know what a ‘ghost date?’ Is.
I think it's where the dial has no date but if you pull the crown out you can feel that it has a date mechanism underneath
Yes correct
Yep, want one.......

tim.herremans so you only buy watches based on the movement and no other factors?
Kellen The Time Of course not.
Dude, super cool and unique, but unavailable. Ugh. I might have to settle for a Vostok amphibia.

Nice review love the light blue reminders of the color on my 69 Beetle.
Will Chris be selling this Seaforth?

аmazing watch, I've bought one at ebay for a premium, no chance I get it for 700$ especially in EU where 20% VAT is added.
I'd consider one but the website is nonsensical.
can I use this as dress watch?? with different bracelet of course.
Really digging the steel bezels lately a la Seiko Monster.
Availability aside this or a monster?
I am way too biased man. MONSTER
Nearly a unicorn.

Kind of boring to me.
