This is how I finally left my abuser. I chose to break down the dichotomy by looking at myself to see how am I abusive in my own life and how am I abusive towards myself. I realized that staying with him was an extension of the abuse towards myself that I learned from growing up in an abusive family and that the problem was inside me. He was just a symptom. It gave me the power to break the “contract” between us and escape.

Most people cannot manage this level of thought consciousness. They are black and white / good / bad . I work in a federal prison most of my colleagues see the detainees as dirt of society.I enjoy sitting with detainees , hearing their story and then finding those stories within myself . Granting them compassion instead of judgement.

I know, it's so crazy to me. Also, I have been a big "advocate" of the "thinking" that we humans have personal agency, and free will, but anymore I don't know how much free will, and personal agency we actually do have. Two people go through the same set of circumstances, one grows, and kicks ass while the other destroys, and becomes the ass...I have no idea how this works.

This is exactly what I thought she was talking about right away. I have done it as a recovering addict. Honestly I felt suicidal for a while. I had to learn how to do it the right way. You have to sit with your shadow without guilt or shame or judgement. Just accept these dark parts of you as a part of you and don’t repress those parts. It’s the only way to become whole. It’s especially difficult if you weren’t such a good person like me. I was violent and angry and full of rage. I hurt an out of people in my life. It wasn’t until a therapist said to me, hurt people hurt people that I realized I was hurt. I grew up in trauma in my early childhood. If actually began while I was in the womb. My dad beat my mom a lot. She actually died on the operating table for a few seconds the doctor told her. Pregnant with me. I had repressed memories plus I was very young when my trauma occurred. So I never could understand why I was so full of anger all the time. Fighting everyone my whole life. I was an iv drug user and alcoholic. Meth was my drug of choice. I’m four years clean now at 48 years old. It takes an extraordinary amount of strength to beat that needle. By far the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. I spent a year of my life in residential treatment and had professional help to win that battle. Carl jung and his shadow work was crucial to my recovery. So was God. I couldn’t have done it without every resource I could find. But yeah, most people don’t do the shadow work because it’s extremely difficult to take a real hard honest look at the truth about yourself. Bug if you don’t you will stay fragmented your entire life. It’s worth all the pain you have to go through to become whole. Take the masks off and be yourself, whatever that looks like.

”One could say that integration is the truest spiritual goal. For the universe to become one, as a fractal of the universe, we must become one. We will do that by integrating. We will integrate by “loving” all aspects of ourselves. We will integrate by pulling close and seeing value in the aspects of us that we have pushed away. For most of us in the world, in the process that we go through in order to ‘grow up’, there is an element of pushing our child-self away. And this is a tragedy because when we push our child self away, we don’t simply gain all the positive attributes of maturity and adulthood. We lose all the positive attributes of youth and childhood. An essential part of integration is to re-own your child self”. Teal Swan (from the video and article: Powerful spiritual practice: become like a child)”. Thank you Teal

I remember the first time I was so mad I felt like I could do serious harm to someone, I knew I wouldn’t, but that feeling knowing I was totally capable, was the most confusing and empowering and empathizing feeling I could have ever felt. And I was quite young. Our reality isn’t “good vs bad”. It’s simply survivalistic. What we need is to understand our profound capability to thrive. We’d then release ourselves from the erroneous societal mentality that has such a death grip on us all. Life would be much more harmonious. And the serial killer in us wouldn’t even rear it’s ugly head because we’d all have acquired the skills necessary from those around us to manage as opposed to cope. We’d be in community instead of competition. We’d be in a much more harmonious state. But until then, it’s important to be real with ourselves. If we can’t feel the power of being the evil doer, maybe we can’t even feel the power of the opposite and we’re just hanging out in the middle zone a little too much. It’s not that we need to be extreme. It’s that we need to recognize our extremes and choose where to reside to feel best for our overall wellbeing and that of the collective.

In order to understand it we have to imagine ourselves in their position then think about what we would appreciate receiving.
Especially with people who cause suffering as the previous person has stated, the way they get treated does need to be reformed, and she suggests a method to use that might help in finding better ways, I guess this is what was being talked about.

We have true demons inside ourselves. I'm currently in a stage of self-exploration that brings out some traits in me that I could never understand in others before, like for instance blind rage. I've thought of myself as a "good girl" for much of my life. I knew I had some bad traits, too, and wasn't really better than anyone else. But I always thought I could control myself and not let the bad parts take the upper hand. Now that I discover the destructivness and power that's in me and, when triggered, can hardly contain it and keep myself from harming the person that triggered me... That makes me humble. And it sparks compassion, because I'm beginning to see that others are fighting with their inner demons just the same and all of us can easily fail in holding them back, because they are such a powerful and deceitful force.
The only thing that currently helps me to keep them at bay is the honest desire to see and live the truth, which is that there are no "others" and no part of the ego, neither the "angels" nor the "demons", is truly good or bad but always deceived.
It's not the end of the story. It's not entirely correct. There's so much still that I haven't experienced and understood. But learning and accepting that everything is inside me, the good and the bad, and that noone wins in this endless fight between these forces, is a big step forward for me.
I still wonder how to bear seeing this fight going on in everyone around me all the time while not being able to help them. How am I going to not go insane or fall into despair while having to witness this endless suffering?

There’s no “law” of mirroring, there are no “laws”, actually, there may appear to be but it’s only because a critical amount of consciousness believes or subscribes to the pattern, whatever it is. Source can shift or eradicate any “law” in any dimension. Mirroring is a current phenomenon, but it’s not a law and not all humans are subject to this phenomenon, some have moved beyond.

Yup. When people piss me off I have to look at myself and see how I do the same thing and try to make sure I work on it. Otherwise I just hate myself 🤷‍♀️

This brings to mind the anecdote I always like to share about the reporter in India who encounters a holy man & asks:
"How is it that you remain so blissful & happy when there is so much suffering around you every day?" To which the holy man responds: "nothing goes wrong in my life."
I also suggest people read up on the Baader Meinhof phenomena - popularly marketed by folks touting "The Secret"

Apparently, it was too difficult for most of us to master our environment (without deluding ourselves into believing ourselves being superior to said environment). We are running the Animal Kingdom like a banana republic.

    • @ksy4747

Why? Because we do it to ourselvds and eachother every day. We have been put into metaphorical cage since the day we were born into a society. This is just another physical extension of tuat. Keeping our own animal side in a cage as well. It didnt go away anywhere. Civilization didnt erase that part of us. We are still animals on a biological and subconscious level. Its just been caged.

I can't see past the greed, and poison in the world. I can't get away from someone who pokes at me constantly. And I don't do that to people so I don't understand why it is this way. Other than I can't focus on the positive. That's the only thing I haven't figured out.

They’ll see someone similar but in a better position than them, and realise they were everything that person was, but failed (subjectively).

i would have adopted this perspective courageously until years ago when i literally descended into hell and experienced what its like to be in that environment.
youre basically nothing there, just pure seeing and sensing. and most pronounced was being driven by thoughts, vile horrid thoughts, of not your own making.
blasphemy, arrogance, killing god, being mentally fed by sexual lurid scenes.
your own identity being vanished meaning youll all confusion and cannot seem to think for your own because your mind wouldnt believe you. theyd switch off that portion of your brain.
now i no longer swallow too much ideas. im more skeptic in accepting whatever people say these days
